    Morning everyone!

    PenPen, you look fab!
Gingham, you sound so much more like your old happy self, it's great too hear. Good luck with the weight loss.
MrsMix Hope your daughter feels better soon.
N9eav We get a lot of tourists in Windsor, but the only time it affects us, apart from when we go to the town centre, is the blummen tourist and tour buses. I can't imagine what it must be like in Cornwall.

Sunshine! At last! I've got the WM on and (sad really) I'm loking forward to hanging it out. Painted the bathroom ceiling yesterday. I've learnt from bitter experience that, despite what I think, I do need to cover things and tape edges etc. We have tiled walls, so I had to put paper up everywhere, and all over the bath, basin, lavatory etc, so that took about an hour. I then got the paint down from the loft to find it had dried up, so had to go and buy some more. At least it was 10% day at Homebase.

By then I didn't feel like painting, so I started on making some Christmas Cakes. I make Delia's Creole cake for us and also for pressies; I use a lot more alchohol than she does (one lot now, one lot later), and I leave the fruit steeping in the fridge for three weeks not one. Still, I had six to make, and that took forever because I only had three saucepans big enough, and I had to make an unplannedtrip too the shops because I'd miscalculated ingredients. The fridge is now full of lock'n'lock containers with alcoholic fruit in!

After dinner, I decided I really must get the bathroom painted, so I did. It needs a second coat (at least) though , and I'll be going upstairs to do that in a mo. I will. I won't keep putting it off.

Not sure what else to do today. Frogmore House is open in Windsor, so I might go there; the Old Windsor Farm SHop has a Food Festival on, so I might go there. Egham show is on and my local Curves has a stall. I should go to the gym, but I'm kidding myself if I think I'll be doing that.

I'll see how I feel (and how much paint I'm covered in!) later.

<<Hugs>> to you if you need one or would like one.

    Have a great day all

  • Morning all from a very overcast Preston.

PenPen what a gloriously rich colour. It's gorgeous.
mrs mix glad Dd's op went well. I'm sure some serious tlc and lots of ice cream would be gratefully received. ;)
juliapenguin glad to hear you feel a bit better every day. Good luck for Tuesday.
alibob good news re your Dad.
GR it's hard to be organised when you have LOs, isn't it? My view was that the housework will still be there tomorrow but my babies won't be babies for long. Don't make yourself ill trying to be all things to all people. Enjoy your babies now and let others help you with the rest.

Plan today is to sort out my finances to the last penny if I can. August was bad and September won't be any better so I need to know where I stand, money-wise.

Need to buy some storage for DD's cardmaking stuff. It's taking over the dining table. Instore are quite cheap so I will have a look there.

Went to Mr T's yesterday and spent £55.52 but that included school shirts for DD, four Christmas presents, locks for DS and DD's school lockers, a rowing machine thingy that DD *had* to get (but still owes me money for  ), a Doobie Brothers CD that I *had* to get (it was all of £4) and some heavily reduced food bargains. I can now do a storecupboard challenge as part of my September money-saving.

Have a super Saturday everyone - especially those going to the beach. Lucky things. xx

P.S. I had typed a post and it lost it. I have noticed that if I spend more than 10-15 minutes typing, it seems to log me out again. Is this the same kind of problem others are having?

Morning all! Hope everyone is well today.

Had a late one last night - had friends over for dinner (homemade pizza and chunky chips with greek salad, yum yum) so the house is spotless except for the kitchen which I am going to leave to OH while I hit the car boot sale!

Looked at a flat yesterday which we can see huge potential in, so having a last minute dash round of the house before we get it valued on Wed. So many little jobs to do, and want to get some work done on the bathroom so it'll be finished by the time we sell (that's the theory anyway!).
  • Weel, tried on some clothes and nope, I dont' have a nice top to wear....... so its off to M+S, I guess, Evans doesn't seem to have any nice tops. And hope I can find one that fits!

    Hi everyone,

Well my resolution to post every day didn't work. I'm just too tired during the week. Came home feeling v depressed last night after the week from hell. I'm wondering why I ever wanted to be the boss. I've got 2 staff going through disciplinary procedures and as well as making sure I'm fair to them I've got to be soooo careful to comply with legislation:eek: .

OS wise I managed to meal plan last week and stick to it:D . I was horrified at the amount of food I was wasting. That's my first move this morning, do next week's plan and shop for it.

DD is here, she will be going off this morning to a wedding in Lincoln then on to Leeds festival on Sunday where her B/fs band is playing - I hope the weather is good.

At the moment its v sunny, which after the totally grey week is a relief.

DH and I are planning to declutter the top boxes over our bed this weekend - much needed.

Hugs to everyone celebrating or in need.

    Morning :wave: :wave::wave:

Very jealous of all with the sun today - pretty grim here. Probably a good thing though as project feature wall would not get finished. As it stands I think I will be able to crack it off today if it stays cloudy  It looks fantastic which I am very relieved about - I am normally quite boring with decorating so its been a leap for me:D

Had a lovely dinner with friends last night - I cooked N9eavs Alice Springs Chicken with jacket spuds and corn on the cob and it was delicious (thanks N9eav they all left with your recipe:D ) We ended up playing Pictionary which was a real laugh - it was going to be Monopoly but one of my friends doesnt speak a whole load of English and explaining the concept to him just got too complicated.

Warrington is not normally known for its massive influx of tourists unlike some of the gorgeous places you guys live but this weekend is Creamfields and it absolutely chaos on the roads so apart from a possible nip to B+Q I wont be moving out much. If I sit in the conservatory later and the wind is in the right direction I should be able to hear it all for free:j very mse!!

As some of you know my brother is out in Afghanistan at the moment and the post office have very kindly ( ) decided to let us send parcels out for free until christmas so I am going to send him some fun stuff out to cheer him up. At the moment I can only think of food mags cds etc anybody got any other ideas - what would make you smile if you were away from home for so long? Any thoughts would be very welcome:o

Right the clouds are still thick so I guess the wallpapering is just going to have to be finished.

Have a great bank holiday everyone and hugs for anyone who needs one
    Nelsxx

Edited to say - Jackie have a fab holiday and when youve had enough of the sun can you send it quick smart up to warrington please
  • What about some cookies or brownies? Even if they were a little stale, he probably wouldn't notice cause they were from home. Does he do crosswords or puzzles? A book or two (mystery or ??) - bet they'd get passed all around the rest of his unit. and some pics of the bunch of you?
