    Morning All,

Anniebooklover - yup that's exactly the same prob I have, which is really irritating if you are trying to give good and clear advice to someone!

Pen Pen - lovely photo, you look really good in it.

Well YIPPEE - 2 10 % off days at Homebase and 12 different samples and I've finally found a paint colour we both like! :T Put 1.5 coats on most walls yesterday and OH has confirmed he liked it when he woke up in the room! :T Might get furniture back in place soon!

Well lovely sunny day today, and worst day of period which means back hurts, so won't be moving far from house at all :( Not sure what we'll do.

Finlay currently lying on desk, suckling my left hand as I try to touch type! Did I mention he went paddling in my bath yesterday? I was letting the water out and he was sure he wanted to get in - which he did with his front paws when the water was still 2" deep. He definately wanted out quick! Didn't think he'd want to be near water again, but he was sitting on the bath edge again this morning!

Hope all have a happy day
  • Morning all..............(((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) to anyone who needs one.....

Just got my feet on the floor, much better sleeping the last 2 nights, by the way found that Halfords was open late last night, so we took the GPS system back, aaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnndddddddddd I have a new one which is working. The chap on the desk was the one who had downloaded the stuff in the afternoon, he said he had a problem with it, so went to the manager and he told him to change it and it works.................have programmed it for our trip next week and also for a bowling trip for OH..............RESULT!!!!!!!!!!!YAY!!

Just taken a dark coloured load down to the laundry.........will go down in a bit and put it in the dryer..............miss the line in the garden!!!!

Its a bit of a grey day, OH is going to go down and clean the car before the sun breaks through (we are told that WILL happen) and makes it dry streaky.

Supper is liver and bacon casserole with home grown beans and carrots and spuds. Not sure whats fr dessert might be banana custard.........

Nelski.if you seal cookies in a box wrapped in greaseproof paper they should be ok...........when I used to make mince pies (90 doz of them) for Christmas orders I used plastic biscuit boxes, the sort you get 2 layers in at Christmas, I put greaseprrof paper in and wrapped it round the mincies a layer on the top, put the lid on and sealed it with sellotape.......they kept fine, the main thing is to be sure they are cold before you put them in. The longest they were kept was a month.

Nothing must else to report............I am going to do the last table runner today, its all cut out ready to go.....................
September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

    Tesco £57.13
    Petrol £10.00

    Hello everybody,

    You look lovely Pen Pen.

Well the weather is clearing. Had quite a few showers today but it was normal rain. A lot of flooding has happened but we've been lucky. The fellow down the road lost his verandah. It's his holiday home so he'll get a bit of a shock when he comes again. :D Quite a few trees down as well.

Been cleaning out my kitchen cupboards today. Found a few odd things stuffed into them that DGS put there. He obviously didn't like his carrot sticks. I also started on the pile of washing. Hopefully it will be a better drying day for the sheets tomorrow.

    JackieO Enjoy your holiday.
MrsMix I'm happy that DD's op went well. Hope she recovers fast.
    Alibob (((((((hugs))))) to your dad.

Well off to do my first online shop. It will probably take me hours. Hope you all have a lovely day. Byeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Hi there Nelski

My hubby is in the army and has done both gulfs...luckily he hasnt done Afghanistan - so my thoughts are with your brother and all his family:grouphug:

How about some coffee creamers??? sounds a little odd but you can get some..called tipples i think and they have alcohol in them :p ..and its a nice little luxury...i sent some to my hubbies friend and it was his favourite gift :D ...

Its about time the PO let us send for free, when the gulf was on it was terrible, more often than not the postage was more that what was in the parcel.... .. i sent hubby loads....does he have a favourite sweet or snack?

Does he have enough smellies??? i used to send wet wipes etc as there is nothing worse than feeling sticky all the time is there...

OOOhh and minty breath fresheners - again ..a mouth like a bagders b*m is not nice is it....:D oh and also those really zesty aqua drop type sweets that come in little plastic pots so he can shove them in his pocket and have something nice n refreshing...

oh you have me started now.....i may well be back when i think of some more... but im sure he will appretiate anything, just knowing you are thinking of him will be the best gift.... my hubby said when he got back that it was the letters and cards that always mean most...but a few goodies wont go a miss will they:j

Let me know if thats of any use and i will dig out the recipe...in fact i will start looking now, just in case - as i have so many cook books and mags it may take a while:p

    Morning!

Gloomy day here in Liverpool... could be something to do with the HUGE spider i think i killed last night :o I would usually catch them but im being hyper sensitive at the mo (pregnancy hormones i think!) and when its legs wouldnt fit under a pint glass i got hysterical and jumped on a chair and rang my mum @ 11pm!! :o :rotfl: 15 mins later dad arrives in the car to catch the spider.. me still perched as far away and off the floor as possible from it.. he pulled everything out in my office but couldnt find it so after 30 mins of standing waiting had to leave... about an hour later i was sorta settled again when it ran out again so armed with a tin of fly spray i nuked it.. repeatedly... it crawled into a corner and i think its dead... will get someone else to investigate later and dispose of the body!

Todays plans are to go to my parents to watch the footy this afternoon (very MSE as dad pays the subscription so i dont have to! ;) ) then pop to sainsburys with them, i did weigh up doing an online shop with asda through mysupermarket to get ipoints but it worked out cheaper at sainsburys!!!

Dont think i have much else planned for today....!! A sort of "see how it goes" day i guess??

Oooooh I followed a recipe for hummous on here yesterday as i use loads and it was costing me near £2 a week... finally sourced a HUGE jar of tahini in an asian shop and made my own last night and it was scrummy!! Made a big batch (about the amount id usually go through in a week) and it cost me 40p tops!! And thats cos i used tinned chickpeas! Going to buy a small bag of dried today from supermarket and see how i get on with them... if all goes well i might buy a big bag from the asian shop and save even more! :money:

And to the person who posted the scoresonthedoors website on the resisting takeaways thread THANK YOU! :T I used it to great effect last night... my OH had said he'd call round after going to his mates.... but then text me when he was there at about 8pm saying he was too tired and wanted to "just go home for an early night" after "just watching this program with jay"....... gone midnight he rings me to say hed stayed to watch a film and was just waiting for his pizza order in the local pizza shop.... so i proceeded to tell him about the site and that that particular place scored REALLY poorly with hygiene etc... put him right off his pizza and he said he could hardly eat it after i told him :D Thats what he gets for breaking his promise to see me so he could see his mate! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Good morning everyone.

Well one of my rare weekends off and I have started off really lazily with a lie in thanks to Mr Smoky who has seen to the kids. I have just done 2 fourteen and a half hour days and am feeling it today. Never mind - I am now half way to paying back the time I am owing to my work.

Today we are going to go and pick some sloes which are ready, the idea being to start off some sloe gin. We have enough blackberies frozen now to make pies/crumbles for an army.:rotfl: :rotfl:

The washing will soon be on the line and there is a fruit cake in the oven along with a bread and butter pudding. The house will need a good clean later on this afternoon and the bedding needs changing.

We are off to see our nephew tomorrow in Pwllheli and we are all looking forward to it. DS1 will be able to go out fishing with him and OH as we have a life jacket for him, and with a bit of luck we may 'aquire' a lobster or two for the pot.

thhugpigs-1.gifHugs to all who need one,

    Smoky. xxxxx

    Morning everyone.

Had a bit of a bad day yesterday. Didn't feel too good and could've stayed home but had a lot of work to do so went in. Did the shopping on the way home and OVERSPENT. (Grrr.) Had a bite to eat, then crashed in bed at 8pm. The cats woke me at midnight to come in and 6am to go out again. Then I finally surfaced at 10.30am. But I feel loads better.

Stripped the bed on Thursday, so don't need to do that. I'm on top of all the washing, so don't need to do that. Shopped yesterday, so don't need to do that. Cleaned the windows last weekend, so don't need to do that. Don't have an oven, so can't do any baking. Looks like I'm ironing today. Boo.

I was toying with going into Sheffield to open a bank account for my PMS, but remembered I have several savings pots in my Barclays account. That's good because I'd put the £18 saved so far in the account ... and spend a fortune in all the wonderful shops there. So I've decided to go into Rotherham during my lunchbreak on Tuesday to deposit the cash, and set the savings pot up from home.

Off out tonight. I have £10 budget because I'm driving.
