Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good morning everyone:beer: Can't believe I'm first up :T Had a great day at our friends' wedding yesterday - sunny weather, great company and good food. DD was an usher - greeting people and handing out orders of service. She looked stunning and did a great job. Finished the day in a bar drinking rum punch, and we weren't home until after 11:eek: . Some of the groom's family will be stopping by here on there way home, later, so need to do some baking.
And for those who wanted to see my *chilli* hair, here it is:

Small Penguins are due at swim club at 8am, so will see if I can rouse them soon. DH and I are going to the photographers to get new passport photos. They only charge £4.50 and guarantee that they comply with the new regulations.
Out in the garden today - need to finish trimming the hedge, DD will mow the lawn, and we want to continue harvesting fruit and veg.
DD and I are off to see Hairspray later. Looking forward to John Travolta in drag

Have a great day, Penny. x

Edited to add
She's not too bad Loraine but they are a bit worried about her pain relief she can't take one of the 2 types they like to give as she's allergic to it so they gave me a throat numbing spray and the sister is going to phone me today to see how she is if she's not eaten they will give her something else as well but yesterday they were reluctant to give it to her but if she need's it today they willI didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you

Morning. A weekend off for a change and looking forward to it. No doubt the county will be gridlocked with pesky holiday makers:rolleyes:
At least it's dry and plans for a BBQ can go ahead without the rain spoiling everything.
There really is not too much to report. I hope you all have a great weekend.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Good morning all,
penpen - you look lovely, glad that you had a good time.
Aime - Can I come to your next dinner party? sounds yum!
Its looking 99% sure that my Dad will come home today so i'll be trying to tidy the house and make it look presentable. Its like fighting a loosing battle though, its not a huge house by any means, I don't know where it all comes from!
Made the first tea of the day for me and dh who's still zz'ing and my daughters milk is waiting for her, she's gone quite quiet after waking 45 minutes ago which means that either she's gone back to sleep (vvvvvvv unlikely) or she's up to something she shouldn't be (my bet) DW and WM on, hoping that the promised warm weather will be enough to dry 2 loads, I had one load on the line yesterday from 9 til 6 and it was still damp
dd has a swimming lesson at lunch time, i'm dropping her and dh off and going to a baby shop that has finally got a replacement pram wheel in (been waiting 3 months!)0 -
Morning everyone and thanks to PenPen for the lovely picture.
I'm continuing to feel a bit better every day, thankfully. I'm still anxious to hear whether I've got a uni place (otherwise, what am I going to do with myself all year?) but the admissions tutor is back on Tuesday and should put me out of my misery soon!
Still not sleeping well, though. Only slept three hours the night before last, and from twelve to seven last night - but I woke up literally every hour for at least ten minutes. I've never been this bad ever - it's like having a fretful baby in the house!
Have a good day everyone xx0 -
Morning all
It's sunny!!! Woo hoo. I'm so pleased to have some sunshine here, not least because it's Reading festival weekend & the site is wet enough, so the sun may help dry out the site.
I have 3 more parcels to post today, 2 ebay & 1 Amazon but thats about my only plans for today apart from housework.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester

Good morning all!
Finished my last night shift at 6am. Got 2 days off now, decided I might as well stay up today. Looking nice and sunny.
Nipped to Asda for a few bits after work, my brother is down on Wednesday and I want to make him a chili con carne. I usually use a packet mix for the sauce, but I found a receipe and I'm going to attempt it from scratch, so I had to buy the spices etc. I've also got a friend coming over for lunch later, so I bought some salad stuff and tomatos for him (hate them meself!)
I've got a little housework to do, and I might list a few things on ebay later. And of course poochie will be demanding walkies.
Apart from that, a nice chilled day planned.

Morning earlybirds
Mrs Pen Pen- you look really stylish- glad you had a good day.
Mrs Mix- great to hear your daughter is back home and on the mend- what lovely boys!!
Alibob- brilliant news about your Dad.
Julia-- great news that you are feeling brighter- tip on the telly the other day about getting back to sleep on an wakeful night ( I get plenty and it does work- sometimes) Lie on your back, close youe eyes and then look down towards youe navel - as low as possible. This apparently stops the rapid eye movements that go on when you are thinking too much and restless and induces sleep
Well hey ho hey ho - its off to the beach we go. It is such a beautiful day here we are going to make the most of our time with our visitors.
We went to a soul concert last night- Brilliant - all the sounds of the 70's and 80's a really good band.
Well got to pack a picnic and make a cup of tea.
Have happy days everyone and special gentle thoughts to all those feeling poorly or sad0 -
