You should feel very proud of yourself for all you've achieved and keep achieving :) look at your signature...you're doing amazingly and in difficult circumstances. Glad your hubby is going along with the budgeting too

Thank you all for such lovely comments :) well he's gone. It was wonderful. He was patient, kind and loving. Doted on the girls and had them totally bewitched within moments of being home. It was like he'd never left. Me & dd1 are devastated that he's gone. She's having nightmares and being supremely clingy begging me not to go. It's breaking my heart.
Hubby didn't want to go either.
Good news is hubby should be getting a pay rise. It's going to make a massive difference. Just have to hope they actually stick it this time.
Been naughty spoiling him while he's been home - 1 meal out and one takeaway. But I'm not going to get my self down over it. Dd1 enjoyed it so much she was screaming with joy. Really wanted to stand up and tell everyone why she was so happy and let her carry on screaming but tried to quieten her down instead... Unsuccessfully. Daddy, stuffed crust and ice cream factory for the first time and then an up balloon was too much. So fantastic to see her so happy. Her and her dad are the same person so she really shines around him. They are both born comedians with a mental sense of humour.
So we've got the holiday on Friday. And me and the kids are going up alone now. Grrrrr mine are the only children I know that would scream for an entire journey and not sleep. Why?!?
Getting into a bit of a panic about packing. No idea what to pack. All they want to talk about is what booze they're taking. Try nappies, baby food, hot clothes, cold clothes, extras for sick and poo..... Hmm
Wish I could buy some new clothes I don't hate for the holiday. X

That's so nice to read that you had a lovely time with OH being back. I too, would be joyful with stuffed crust, ice cream factory and an up balloon!!!!

In terms of what to take, I always think lists are the way to go. I try and take as little as possible as when you get home, you have to unpack and wash it all. I'd let my children wear the same outfits more than once and spot clean if dirty. I try and take what I need so that we don't have to overspend at expensive on-site shops, but if I can cope without, I will.

Get a big bit of paper or a notepad and do a page/section for each person and then list how many of each thing you need e.g. 7 x pants, 4 x leggings, tooth brush and so on. Then cross off items as you pack. Then do a page or section for general family items to be shared by all

Sounds like an amazing time, Kitten, I'm so pleased for you! in the grand scheme of things a couple of meals out is well worth it to spend some much needed quality time as a family :D

so glad you had a lovely time together and just thing you would off probably spent more previously then you did this time with a couple of meals so don't worry about it like Kirsty said quality time together is more than worth it. Hope you enjoy your time at center parcs we've just come back and enjoyed ourselves immensely and managed to not spend too much money (car troubles aside!!) :-)

    I'm back!
Centreparcs was lovely, my goodness people like spending your money for you don't they?! Feel pretty lousy about the state of my finances now.
I did enjoy myself and the kids loved it. There was loads of facilities and the pool is amazing! However I was quite overwhelmed by how ignorant the childless can be about routines and that you actually have to feed children as well as let them sleep. Plus the comments about hating children and never wanting them grinded on me quite a bit. And it was super boozy so I felt a bit of a wally. I tried my best to join in though - few cheeky glasses of fizz and rum one night :) oh I love rum! And nice to be included for a change. They all go on lovely holidays three times a year to see the world so I really appreciate that this time it was a child friendly excursion in the uk.
Bit weird being home now. And a shift at work! Like a real adult. Work went well. Took birthday cake in and it was lovely.
Missing my husband like nuts so I think that's a bit of a dark cloud on everything at the moment. It was the sort of holiday he'd love too. Plus I'm not well and need him to turn up and save the day.
I don't think I'm going to hit my target for this month financially but I think it'll be close so that's good, I guess. Just feel a bit of a failure on that front. X

Pleased you all had a lovely break. I think couples who don't have children find it difficult to adjust to being around them, but there is no need for their comments. Whilst I would love three holidays a year, I enjoy my children much more!!!

I think you deserve every penny you spent on your holiday and so what if you don't meet your target this month.
