My dyson is about 11 years old too, its an animal one, we had to buy a new telescopic handle thing, think it was about £50 but it was still worth it. I've the animal one. I want the little cordless one but whilst mine still works I cant justify it.
Note3 when I worked in hotel cleaning we used henrys and they were very good, not as good as my animal dyson for hair but still they had good suction.

Just tried out the new Dyson. Omg so easy. Not any effort to push at all. And my living room carpet filled it up twice. There was a load of sand in there too.
Buying it was naughty of me. I won't get a birthday present or a Mother's Day present and I just wanted it to make one thing I have to do easier. It's just me and the girls (yes I'm the only forces mother in the world). So yes I've justified it in my head. But I am not going to slip back into bad habits. It's a blip. Maybe if I had an emergency fund I would do things differently and just spend what I have. But what's done is done.
Really need to get on with selling my pram but can't do photos without all the parts - in my car and my mums. But that is next big priority.
Maybe try and sell the vax for parts on eBay??? Hmmm
Sorry for raining on your Henry parade. Hubby uses them at work and loves them. It's just me. I grew up in pubs - they were always there lol and I hate bags.
    Lots of love xxx

I might just be being a mentalist but I'm sure my carpet looks better.
Had a total drama. Poor hubbys contract didn't get paid for no reason and he has had no way to contact me. All communications have been down but he's actually on land so wanted to call and couldn't. I feel awful about it. But it's all sorted now. I have no idea why it didn't go through and probably going to have to pay it manually from now on. Plus his contact lenses are still charging us and I'm yet to get a call back on that. So another phone call. It's such a pain in the bum as no one will speak to me!!! I appreciate data protection but I'm only 'reminding them of what he asked for'. I would get power of attorney but it's £300.
Really need to work out how to catch up on sleep.
Hubby gets paid Monday. Hopefully that'll be lots and lots to sort out how naughty I've been. Plus got a few quidcos to become available next week too fingers crossed.
Got 4 weeks til I go back to work :( xxx

I noticed today that I hadn't seen any of your updates recently, so I checked my subscription list and horror, your thread had disappeared. Luckily, I'm back now!!!!

I'm glad you love your Dyson. I didn't realise what I was missing until I bought mine. It's so powerful and I love the fact that you can change direction as you go.

Oh chanie! You are sweet to me.

In true me style I've made a big decision. I think we should try and buy a house when hubby comes home. Thanks to his big pay while away I've plugged in the info into the online calculator and I think we should be able to borrow £15k more and buy a little 2 bed terraced house.
And my mum actually said it was a good idea!!!!
It means a massive stress on clearing debt asap. Especially mine as with a tiny income that just makes it decrease the offer rather than increase it.
I'm being realistic - it means stamp duty and solicitor fees etc etc and living in an old house (not our beautiful brand new flat) BUT we can fix it as we can afford it and we will have a garden!!!!
Hmmm do any of you think I have a snowballs? It would be 83% ltv so I think so.
Some day I can have new windows and a new kitchen. It'll be amazing.
On the Dyson front found out hubby had £80 in his quidco and as I'd already paid £700 into his account this month so his money more than enough paid of the card this month.
Sooo I'm back to my July challenge I started the diary with! But not feeling hugely optimistic on it anymore. Xxx

What a great decision to make. You have said how much you want a garden.

I think buying a house is a bit like having children - you'll never find enough money for either, but you have to think of it as a long term plan. Now that you've made a decision, it should give you the incentive to clear your debts faster.

Wow, that is a big move. I no nothing of children and buying houses, but can understand having a life long dream and i think you should do it.

Brilliant kitten! What a great goal to aim for and whoop a garden.

Good luck. You seem so much better than when you started this diary. So happy for you xx
