Woke up to a very hard frost here.

So I've put the heating back on, a luxury for us.

    Daily stuff already done
Not too sure what to do for the rest of the day, but I think the 'junk' draw in the kitchen is on my radar

Morning all, been MIA for a few days but have just skim read and hope you're all ok.

Welcome back Skinty. Nice tree Bossy.

I had a lazy day yesterday as DH was home. We didn't go out (apart from dog walks) as it was so cold and all I did in the garden was put a cloche over the peas.

So today the house is covered in dog hair. So far I have fed me and the dogs, put a joint of beef in the oven, done a menu plan for the week and sent the shopping list to DH to get on his way home.

    So I need to:

    Wash up the breakfast dishes
    Go on the rebounder
    Have a bath
Get the washing up to date
    Walk the dogs twice
    Go to car boot sale
    Hoover/sweep/mop through house
    Do ironing
Make celery soup as I have so much to harvest in the garden
    Clean pots (garden type)
Sort out clothes in my wardrobe
    Do shredding

Oh my, thats a long list for me. I'm tempted just to go back to bed.

    Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.

Haven't read back. Just totally fed up today and need some encouragement! I work almost full time, and feel like I spend all my time trying to get the house sorted, but never get more than the basics done so it never improves. Just shattered and fed up of a messy house.

Bucketloads of encouragement coming your way. One of the biggest things that has helped me is having a massive declutter. I became totally hooked on the Kon Marie book and I have got rid of so much stuff this year. I do know what you mean about just having time for the basics though, I often feel like this.

Dancemum my DS has just turned 17. He has no GCSEs, has not been to school for 5 years, has poor social skills and his physical health isn't great. We have no idea what he is going to do with his life and no-one can come up with any helpful suggestions. I dont know what the answer is but you are definitely not alone.

Right, I need to shift myself. DS has footie today and its a cup game 40 miles away which is ridiculous. OH wants me to go with them so that's my Sunday taken care of. Need to think about meals.

Have a good Sunday everyone x

    Morning all

Frost here overnight too, Dahlias have now been blackened so lifting them all will be a job for this week, but probably not today.

Awards dinner dance was good last night, boys had a lovely time. DS3 won young player of the year award so was delighted. DH was as usual a real grump and wanted to go home early so I dropped him home and went back.

I have put half the stuff back on the side in the kitchen, was rubbed down and reoiled yesterday. I need to get the laundry next and put that on.

Plan for today is catching up on paperwork, housework, cooking ironing etc.

YL does your DS like being outside? I know there are gardening charties, one near me, who often have schemes where you can work with them to learn basic horticultural skills. Might be something worth considering.

Doobop It sounds like you are time poor. If you could have somebody do a job for you what would it be? I found this helped me to work out what the the biggest problem and if you can either get that sorted or ignored it might help. Tackle the things which annoy you the most. It will never all be done and at the end of your days I doubt your last words would be I wish I'd done more housework.
The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair
  • Morning all today's plan is nipping in attic and sorting Christmas deccys and clearing a load of machine sewing
    Really frosty here
Hope all are as well as can be.

  • Morning all,

Sunday. Tempted to do nothing but OH worked all yesterday and is working again today. So, today I will:

    Do daily stuff
    Iron a lot
    Sweep more leaves
    Dog walk
    Dog food shop

I really need some everyday winter boots and a new winter coat, so may go and look to see what I can find, at risk of boring the children.

Have a good Sunday everyone x

Cold here too - so have finally got round to ordering coal.

Suspect outside stuff won't get done today as I still seem to have my cold and more irritatingly sore throat and voice issues (not ideal in my job, which mostly involves talking). But hopefully if I get inside under control I'll be able to do the outside stuff as soon as the opportunity comes up.

Dry laundry put away, DW emptied, filter cleaned, refilled.

Need to clean the utility today so I can do the hand washing, but will clean the kids' room first so that i can put the electric airer back up in there (the plastic-backed playmats are ideal for putting under trying washing :D)
