  • I'm loving training so far. It was great to start getting to grips with the sales process today. There are some lovely people on the course and I'm sure we'll all settle in quite quickly.
I also got the headset and phone today. It's the same headset I used to use so I took a trip back in time!! I'll be selling Yell products if I'm not careful - once that headset goes on I seem to go into auto pilot :rotfl: :rotfl:

Spoken to tech support who have said the headset/phone is working but will not work with one adsl filter..so I need to buy another one and then it should work. Apparantly it's because it's a US model..any one had this problem before?
Some ADSL filters are missing a certain component that can cause issues with some phones. I'm suprised they are telling you to buy a filter though, my standard sky adsl filters work just fine with my headset base. Who is your ISP and where did you get the adsl filter from you are using? Also what is your current physical connection set up? Are you on an extension or on a main wired socket?

Hi Paul thanks for replying. I've got Sky broadband and I got the adsl filter off them at the time of installation. It's plugged into our main wired socket.

It seems the Plantronics phone/headset will not work when using the black BT adapter they sent with it. Instead it needs to be plugged straight into a DSL port..So basically I need two adsl filters in order to use the internet at the same time.

    I think that's right anyway:p

Hi to Daffodil and Mel..I have to say I'm loving training as well:cool:

Wildt, how many sockets have you got on your line? I used a standard phone lead on my base and it connects to a normal telephone socket so I'm not sure why yours needs to plug into a dsl port.
The lead I use has one of these at one end
    plug 1
and one of these at the other:
    plug 2
Does yours not have the same?
  • Paul, ours have plug 1 at both ends and then an adaptor to convert one end into plug 2 (if that makes sense!)

So you need something like this:
    BT - RJ45 cable
  • The adaptor came in the box with the phone. I think some people are having problems with them though. Mine is plugged in without any issues.

Paul that is the adapter that came with the phone/headset and it will not work..lots of people having issues with them as Daffodil says. I have plugged the phone straight into the dsl port and it works then:confused:

Strange that some people's work and others don't!
