    Hi Messenger.

I called the 0800 number and then just followed the usual "presss 1 to...." message.

The phone call worked, but I couldn't get the online show to work.

I've had the workbooth CD and got my system to boot from the CD, but not sure if I've got it working fully yet.

I've got to sort out a few of the IT issues and want to make sure that this is all done before the training starts.

You may be better off trying the online presentation bits under windows it may just be a plug in needed but obviously the whitescreen system in use during training is important so getting that working is paramount.

    Hello, rufus/messenger,

Yes i was online at the online meeting yesterday, i found it quite detailed and shorter than i expected. I dont know what happend to the third person it was only 2 of us at the end. I spoke to my recruiter yesterday and she said that we will be working either 4 or 6 hour shifts between 3pm and 11pm, I was kind of hoping it would be from 7pm onwards as i have a young baby but partner is going to be home for when im training so hopefully will work out okay.

Im just filling out my reference forms now and i have to await the basic disclousre documents forms as i havent been at my address for the last 12 months. Also have to await the hire pack.

I also need a new phone too, does anyone know if the headset has a mute button if it doesnt i am going to look for a phone with one.

Messenger are you using a laptop? i have a laptop too but i couldnt use it as its over the wireless network too and the worthbooth cd didnt work so i am using the main pc whoch is next to the phone but i think you can connect via ethernet.

I'm also using a laptop with a wireless connection - but thought it would just mean plugging an ethernet cable into the back. If anyone knows differently, please let me know.

    Also need a phone.

They told me the start time could be anything between 3pm - 4.30pm, working 4-6 hour shifts.

Hi rufus i have been scrolling through this forums and a while back this phone was reccomended from argos.

    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5522992/Trail/searchtext%3ESPEAKERPHONE.htm

So i am going to go with that one , apprantely i was told yesterday that we would receive the headset a couple of days into training.

Do we have to wait for the hire pack first before we get our ID signed by the solictor?

I don't think you have to wait, but its up to you if you want to be sure they're sending you the pack before you start paying to get things done. It's just one of the things on the tick list that has to get done before we start.

I've done the Disclosure Scotland and I've started letting my references done. The biggest thing for me is getting the computer set up sorted out.

Thanks for the phone list. I'll check it out.

  • Hi vicc.jaz, I too have the baby problem. Ideal start time would be 7.00pm for me. I am worried about what if my toddler screams when I am working.
I work in a desktop. But it connected via modem. Can anyone tell me if this is going to be a problem. Because when did the test, my computer failed in this. The result said(from what I remember and understand) 'you are connected to the internet directly. You need a router between your computer and the net'.

I thought by router it meant a wireless router. I have not done anything yet regarding this. Can anyone good at techie stuff enlighten me on this?
  • I'm on the information call tomorrow at 4.30 and start sales training on 4th August - is anyone else on those sessions?

    Looking forward to this now.

Yes you will need a router, they are not expensive these days and also help to make it easier to expand your home network (when needed) and can also add a layer of protection from rubbish on the net. What internet provider do you use?
If your child starts making a lot of background noise and the caller (or QA or your TL) hear it then there could be issues. The phone base/ headset unit that will be sent out to you at some point has a mute button on it but you should not use it during calls unless you really really have to as it's a no-no.
Anyone with a wireless router should be able to just plug the pc into it via ethernet cable while working (it's what I do on my laptop when taking calls), as long as you are on your physical ethernet connection it should in theory over ride the wireless, especially in workbooth as you just boot from the CD with the ethernet cable in and the CD does the rest for you.
Your best bet during training is a cheap speakerphone setup as that will free your hands up for notes and typing, once using your headset and phone base supplied by Teletech you will have no problems.
