hello again all, i have been invited to a online informational session for the tech job. Can anyone who already attended this tell me howlong it will last for? Also, I have been asked whether I will be able to attend the training starting from 4th Aug. The problem is the hours(4.00 - 8.00) Do I have a choice in this? Like the choice of starting later?

Hiya, i also have my online session today at 4, im not sure how long it lasts but i dont think it will last longer than a hour. My training also starts on the 4th Aug i would prefer to start later than 4 but im not sure if we get to choose i think because its training that we will have to attend those hours.

I have bought a belkin 10/100 adapter and i can now get it to work fine.

Problem is i still dont know that i've got the job. She was supposed to be phoning me back Friday but emailed to say she was out of the office and would be in touch first thing today but still not heard from her!

Hi all,

I was also on the iformational session yesterday for starting training on 4 Aug.

Not sure who turned up as according to the person that took the session, there were 7 due on the line - 3 started and it sounded like only 2 finished (I'm guessing the other one was was vicc.jazz - how did you find it?).

Got a lot of information:

20-30 hours depending on circumstances. I wanted 30 but they told me that as I already have a job, they won't give me more than 20 - at least to start.

Sat and Sun are compulsory - 3-11pm.

Have to be available Mon-Fri between 3-11pm but shifts start between 3pm and 4:30pm and finish accordingly.

They didn't tell you who the client is yet - but one of the additional benefits gives a clue.

I got quite a bit more, so if anyone has any questions, I'll try and help.

I still need to work out my IT needs - I couldn't get to the online meeting room, so have to sort that.

Also need a new phone, so any ideas will be appreciated.

They told me I can't use a wireless connection to the internet, so I've got to work that out as well - I'm guessing I need a 40 foot long ethernet cable, unless again anyone has any better ideas.

Did you have to phone any number as well as logging on to the meeting room? There was a landline phone number and a 0800 number given in my mail.How does it work? I will be having my meeting sometime next week hopefully. Have you got the workbooth cd already?

I was offered the chance to move over from tech to sales when the project first started-decided not for for various reasons in the end although I haven't ruled it out in the future.
You'd need to reinterview and go through all of training again and can't train whilst still working tech so your hours would probably drop during the training period.
One of the tech teamleaders moved over to sales-why not talk to him about what the differences are as he can see "both sides" His email is still the same. (I assume you know who he is )
