    Still no workbooth cd

I dont think I am going to be able to start on monday now! I tried emailing the man who did my interview, but he hasnt got back to me yet and its getting a bit close now.

I dont suppose anyone who has decided not to persue would let me have their disc? If anyone could do this I would be so grateful!

Failing that, does anyone know the numbers you have to dial first to get an american number? There is a number on the email but it doesnt look like it has the international dialling number on it

    Hope someone can help,

    MBM x

    Hi MBM,

When I put my Hirepoint ID and email in I get a message to say that it has failed and that I can try later. Did you get your details to go in OK?

I had to turn my laptop off before I could eject the CD.

When I tried to use the disc in my laptop, it didnt even bring up the box where you put your hirepoint id and email address, after a little while, a box popped up to say that it was unable to connect to the internet.

When I used the desktop, I got a message saying that the test had been successful and my pc was ready to go :D

What did you use as the hirepoint id? I found mine on the original pc assessment email.

  • Did we tell them our work history before they have asked for it in the welcome pack ?

I dont think the original application form asked for previous employment details. I dont remember anyway but they certainly didnt ask for any in depth details or I would probably have had to look them up.

I have got the disc to work on our desktop, I really dont understand it.. our desktop is a crappy old heap and my laptop is new!!

At least I start training on monday now but its going to be very inconvenient working from where the desktop is located. I dont think those cables are very expensive as you can pick them up very cheaply on ebay, but I'm not sure they are compatible with Vista.... arrrrrrggghhh!

Oh well, at least I have got the disc working... one question though :D How do you eject the disc?

MBM the problem is that the internal network card inside your
laptop is not supported by the Workbooth (Linux) operating system,
so the the only option is for you to use one of those belkin usb to Ethernet adapters, it doesn't really matter if its not supported in vista because you can just plug your network cable back into the internal socket when you want to run vista for your personal use.

    Thanks Oliver27,

I will order a belkin ethernet adaptor, and just use the desktop if I have to until it arrives :D I guess that is why I had the problem with the initial computer assessment when it said my connection was too slow.
