    Yes very colourful isn't it!!

Reading through the contract i've seen some interesting and dodgey things. Dodgey not in a bad way but just odd!

Eg: Paying out for a solicitor and then only providing one peice of identification? Normally they (Employment places) take 2 minimum.
Then it tells us to take a photocopy with us of our document and yet in the thing that the solictor has to sign it says that they have photocopied that document themselves. So that's dodgey!

I have 3 prepaid. As far as I can gather one is for the equal opportunities form (the ethical thingy one), another for the solicitors stuff, and the contract, bank details etc in the other.

Do correct me if i'm wrong.

What I can't work out and don't understand is the clause about the pay for the public holiday in 8.3.3 which then refers to 8.2.5. I don't understand 8.2.5!
woohoo, received my contract today, i'm finding a bit confusing!saturday today so can't get a hold of a solicitor til mon.

i only recived 2 envelopes, i thing the 1 for equal op's is missing, i've not recived the e-mail either for the criminal check

I call it CRB but its not through the CRB it's the Scotlands version of the CRB!! They just do a basic criminal record check. A little over board but at the same they have never met us f2f so it's understandable. You can complete it online on the website if you haven't moved house in the past year. Unfortunately I have so I had to email them to get them to send me a paper copy which hasn't yet appeared.

Yes, I'm wondering about my references also! My 2 personal ones are actually friends of the family who are in professional jobs.

How the hell can a banker who has never met you, or a doctor who may see you once a year if he is lucky, be called personal I shall never know!!!!!
So i'm expecting them to be rejected.
    thanx rebekah

Seems everyone's recruiters are doing it differently. Fret not it'll get sorted!
It's very colourful isnt it?!! Yes it is confusing. I'm going to call (around) the solictors Monday and see if I can get in Tuesday or Wednesday. So I can get it all posted on Thursday ready for Friday.

You've done workbooth haven't you? Have you booked a meeting with the tech people yet? As you can't do it on the calender thingy.
  • PaulK - thanks alot for that.

I am with Virgin media. You was very informative. Cheers!:j

i don't know if i did it wrong but i didn't book a meeting with the tech people. at what point do you have to do that?

and do you know how much it is to get verified by the solicitor? its a shame a few people have dropped out. i hope this last part (all the paper work and contract stuff) goes through ok, i'm worried i'm going to miss something out!and only less than a week till training!:j
