Yes very sorry for throwing a spanner into the works. Just logged back on here to edit my post because I realised I was wrong and you do need to be on the phone aswell.

Seeing as for training and conference calls we dial a number to enter into the meeting, I was wondering how it works when we go live and customers ringing a premium rate number get routed to our number. I guess we dont ring out to a number at the beginning of every shift.

Does the teletech software take over our phones so only customers come through to our home phone and no one else can who may try to ring us?

This is why I orginally thought the headsets plugged into our computers. I thought calls would be controlled by the software and come through our computers. That way our phone lines would still be available during shifts.

It'll probably be best for me to go on teletech to see if they have any info on this, or wait until training to find out.
• i think that you will find that your phone line will be engaged for most of your shift! Wish you good luck in your job. Do you start in January?

Your line will be engaged as soon as you log into the avaya system. It will not be released until you log out of Avaya completely. The headset plugs into a base that you are sent, the base plugs into your telephone line.
Calls are routed to your phone via a VOIP server system, the customer does not see your telephone number at any time or even know that they are not talking to a call center worker.
• St8,

I think you may have misunderstood what I was asking.

If I'm right TeleTech needs you to be on the phone and on the computer/online.

So the phone/headset would not plug into the computer but it to your phone.

Or have I got it wrong?

It seems a few people are getting the wrong end of the stick here,
Teletech will send you a phone base and headset for free near the end of
your training this is a normal phone and plugs directly into your BT socket

If you are a new starter it's recommend that you buy a speaker-phone for
the training a cheep one is fine http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5522992/Trail/searchtext%3ESPEAKERPHONE.htm , this is because in your training you will spend allot of time in a telephone conference call and your going to get pretty sick of holding a handset to your ear for that long.

When you start your shift for real, Teletechs phone system calls you at the
start of your shift and you press a button on the phone pad to answer the call, you phone line stays off the hook for the full shift and your work calls are controlled by a PC application called Avaya , this is what you use to take/dial/transfer your calls.

Hope that answers a few questions :)

We got ours quite early this time, about 4 days into the training as long as they had got the paper work back.

Any landline is fine BT/Virgin/Bulldog etc , as long as it has the usual BT type telephone socket for a normal phone

Hello
First time poster alert!!
I applied for teletech position in October, have completed all assessments and was also invited to online meeting HOWEVER the email address I had to reply to was apparantly not valid?
So I am really looking for any suggestions as to what I should do now.
I have tried livehelp, who dont really know what I sould do, also I have emailed teletech (hboathome@teletech.com) and they did not reply.
I have obviously now missed the meeting and teletech are probably thinking I am no longer interested - which I am , very much.
Any advice much appreciated.

I have a simmilar problem, I completed the online assement several days ago, since then I have recieved an email inviting me to a meeting on the 20th December and 2pm or 3pm. Unfortunatly I am unable to make eiether of these dates. I have replied to recruiter but dont think I will get a reply?

I contacted the teletech online help team, who told me to send an email to hboathome@teletech.com and explain the situation, which I have done.

I hope my application is not stopped due to not being able to make this meeting.

Has anyone else been involved in a simmilar situation?

Hi KammyK, this is meeting is new to the application process. I attended one the other day. They had technical issues and had to rearrange the first one. I couldn't make their rescheduled times so they said that was fine and they would contact me the following day when they have arranged further meetings.

I received the email the next day and chose the meeting I wanted. So I don't think it will be a problem changing. You should email the recruiter who sent you the meeting invite again. This person will be conducting the meeting. You should get a response.

Teletech seem to be ok with resheduling to fit your needs. When I received my final interview call (which was spot on time!) I was asked if it was still a convienient time to have the interview.

Goodluck, the group meeting is a little pointless to be fair. But at the end you arrange the final interview so it's definately worth attending!
