Do you have to work bank holidays and if so does it include Christmas day?

I hope you find something suitable soon Catwoman-and congratulations on your graduation (I was a mature student too and I know what a juggling act it can be with a family).
Lorelai-see you in training :) If you want to PM me beforehand feel free

I think they were pretty clear about the hours and rate of pay from the outset. I don't think it's a job for anyone with young children or a needy OH as you do need to be left alone to get on with it-but that's the same for any job-this one just happens to be at home.
I'm not a "student type" whatever THAT means ! The hours suit me and I can organize my home to enable a suitable working enviroment and I'm still free during the day-for me it's ideal as a single Mum with a teenager who understands that when I'm working he fends for himself but I'm still physically there rather than leaving him whilst I'm at work.
Not for everyone but for me it suits and I'm looking forward to training starting.

when i was interviewed on the phone they said they were looking for people to do 7pm til 11pm shifts. If they had mentioned that I would have to start at 4pm I would have told me that I couldn't do it.

I have a summerhouse in the garden so if I had started work at 7pm there would have been no background noise as it would have only been me there.

Good Luck to all those who start the training this month :D

  • I passed my final interview, woooo. Need to set up my 2nd line in time for training on 26th November but am a bit worried it won't be done in time. With Virgin Media, does anyone know anything about getting a 2nd line with them ie cost and time taken to fit etc?

Can take weeks to do unfortunately, the only way to find out is to call them. Do you need the second line? We just make people aware that if the land line is engaged then they should call our mobiles.
  • Has anyone (newbies starting on 26th) received their contract yet? Does anyone know if we have to buy anything before training?
  • I haven't received my contract yet no. I don't think anything needs buying, there was some mention of a headset a while back but I think they might provide that for free after the initial training period.

As far as my 2nd line thing goes - BT tried to charge me £120 just to reconnect an old line so I told them where to go. Virgin Media said they'd do it for £30 and they'll be around next week - hopefully set up in time for training.
  • hi
I start training on the 26th Nov also n have not received my contract yet either, i have not received my welcome pack either which they said i would get within a few days that was a week ago.
has anyone else got there welcome pack yet?
  • Hey ho. Hope your all doing well ?

    Loving the job.......
Any way thats another story ! lol

Any one know who the best and cheapest ISP would be for this job, im on orange at tho mo and if I stay with them I cant work untill I get it changed and if I don't get it changed I dont have a job ! They change the IP addy every half hour and it cuts me off.

Yes I know the sky BB is cheap, but I dont want to pay extra for the TV (yes I know we get it half price). I got this job to make money not pay more money for TV and my Internet.

You could get a free digibox and dish
all the normal channels ie everything bar sports/films
free evening/weekend uk calls, and the broadband
mid package with 8mb speed and 40gb usage

    normally £26 per month (£312) a year

    But

you can get half of that back every month so thats £13 a month (£156) a year
minus £135 oneoff credit from using quidco and the £10 credit for joining sky online

so that makes £11 a year plus £30 one off install fee, So thats £41

So if you work it all out, a years tv/phonecalls/internet is going to cost
    only £41 a year or £3.42 a month
