    Hilton Kensington "Upscale property in West London, Kensington" is coming out at £90.62 per night, is better than the Metropole and in a nicer area. It's a little bit further away but the transport links are good (central line) and as a bonus Westfield is literally across the road.

    I can't find any other deal I would recommend right now.

    Seeing as everything seems to be very lightly booked for that weekend (despite it being half term), I predict you will get a far better deal if you wait till much nearer the time to book. It's up to you whether you feel comfortable with that though.

    Thanks for that, not sure Westfield being so close is a good idea though. ;)
    I think I will wait and see if anything better comes along in the meantime.

    I think that's the best plan, I don't see the Metropole as good value at the price you mentioned. Last couple of times I stayed in the Kensington I booked around a week before and it had come down to £81.25, so I'm guessing you'll still have that as an insurance choice should nothing more central come up.
  • Hi there,

    I hope you can help. I'm looking to spend a night or two in london with DH - VERY lastminute, as he's got unexpected holiday from the 6th - 13th. The last few times i've booked hotels they've been pretty dire so I thought i'd come here for some advice beforehand. I don't seem to have great luck hotel wise.

    Would prefer to spend two nights, 4*, max £150, but if there's nothing good around will be happy with one night, 5*, same limit. Would prefer fairly central location, but not essential if a further out hotel is lovely.

    I've had a look at lastminute & there doesn't seem to be much around at the moment, so if anyone spots anything i'd be so grateful.

    Thank you!

    Anythime between the 6th and 13th is ok? I'm sure there'll be something. However if you wait till after the weekend the deals will probably be even better. Let me have a quick look...

    The Hilton Kensington delivers again (sorry!). Either the 6th-8th or the 11th-13th comes out at £151 for 2 nights including breakfast. Note this isn't on lastminute but at hilton.co.uk/sale. That's all I can find in the way of 4*

    In the way of 5*:
    -Waldorf Hilton is £150 the night of the 6th
    -Rafayel on the Left Bank is £125 on the 7th, £100 on the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th;
    -Intercontinental Park lane "Ultimate Luxury in the ultimate Mayfair location" is £155 on the 8th, 9th, 10th, 12th;
    -Marriott West India Quay is available on the 11th for £112 and £142 on the 12th;
    -Andaz "Stylish, vibrant & ideal for London shopping" is available on the 11th for £125 (excellent hotel)
    -Wyndham Grand "Luxury retreat in excellent location" is available on the 11th and 12th for £125
    -Threadneedles Hotel is available on the 12th for £150.

    As I said before, you will probably get a wider choice of deals if you leave it even more last minute, especially if you'd prefer 2 nights in a 4*. Then again, the inclusion of breakfast in that rate at the Hilton Kensington is unlikely to be beaten.

    I should start charging for this, can get tiring when the dates are flexible :P

    Does the Cavendish come under the secret hotels please? If not then any suggestions for one of similar spec & location. Thanks
    Comping from May 2012 :D

    Thank you to all that post & contribute, I think you are wonderful, I could not achieve without your help :)
  • Wow, that's far more help than I was expecting, thank you so much! I'll keep hunting for 4* closer to the time & have a chat with DH to see what we can do. Threadneedles is tempting though, I was taken there once and have a soft spot for it.

    Thanks again!

    I don't believe the Cavendish has ever taken part. What's available is very variable depending on date and how much you're willing to pay, Hotels in the same immediate area that have been on there include The Stafford, Athenaeum, Dukes, Le Meridien Piccadilly, May Fair Hotel, Holiday Inn Mayfair. The problem is they are not often very cheap.

    Should mention the Hilton sale ends in 3 days, so that Kensington Hilton deal won't be available after that.
