Hi Pelican, please help asap as need to book soon!

I'm looking to treat my mum for her birthday to a luxury 5* star hotel and am trying to get the best price possible!! I am looking for a hotel that is under £150, don't mind if it's a double or a twin but I want to find something quite special as we don't normally treat ourselves to 5*. I'm looking for Saturday 30 April.

The hotels that I've found so far which look quite good are:

The May Fair - 168
Grange St Pauls - £99
Threadneedles - £132
Raddison Edwardian Hampshire - £149

Well, I assume these are the hotels as I've been looking on lastminute and then comparing all the descriptions to this thread. Which would you recommend? I'm also going to take her to see Wicked which is the Apollo Victoria and we're going to want to go to Oxford St shopping the next day so something really central that has everything minutes away would be perfect.

I hope I'm not reaching for the moon…

This weekend seems really popular! so thinking of booking now, what do people think?

Two that interest me are the Crowne Plaza Shoreditch £105 with breakfast (hotelstayuk) and the following last minute secret hotel which I cant find on the forum/google,

This superb boutique hotel has been recently refurbished and offers great facilities. All the rooms are equipped with a safe, air conditioning and WiFi internet access.The hotel features a bar and restaurant and is located just a short walk from Victoria station.

Thanks to Pelican eats pigeon! Lovely weekend at the Atheneaum and after asking for upgrade when booking (politely) received parkview room - excellent! Food very expensive but there is an M&S just down the road. The spa is open if you can find the time - there is so much to do in London isn't there?

We booked a hotel for 3 nights in June in London using Lastminutes secret hotels. The description was:

"The property is offering stunning views over London's iconic Tower Bridge. This is a luxurious accommodation within the famous Tower Bridge area. The hotel amenities include a 32 inch flat screen digital TV, individual climate control and king/queen sized beds"

Used this site to get a good handle on what the most likely hotel was. Turns out the posters on here were all correct - confirmation was the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel. Brand new and not even open yet. Will post on here to let you all know what it was like. Saved about £60 using lastminue which is not to be sniffed at.
