Hi, browsed the forums and this looks like the athenaeum. In the absence of p e p would anyone please be able to confirm this and give a view if they have stayed there?

Also, is it a good general location?

I can confirm that this hotel is the Athenaeum. I stayed in this hotel back in March and it was lovely! The staff were all very friendly, and nothing was a problem. One thing to note, is that the room i got didnt have a great view, and i believe that's because it's booked as a secret hotel at a reduced rate. Still a lovely hotel and would certainly return!

Think we can put up with the lack of view so probably just go ahead. I'll post with the outcome so it can maybe help others as you have me.

I'm taking my fianc! for a weekend in London May 12th-15th and I'm looking for suggestions on where to stay. We're not there for shopping or theatres etc, just to spend some nice time together, walking the parks, old graveyards and going to various outdoor markets... enjoy good food, wine and music, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions on specific hotels with nice ambience and atmosphere? Our price range is around £150/night

I have not been in London in 15 years, and back then I thought Camden was heaven on earth - but I think both Camden and I myself has changed a bit over the years :-)

Would be very very grateful for some suggestions on nice hotels (top secret or just good deals)!
