Hi,
I'm looking for a nice hotel with a good location April 9 to 12 (saturday-tuesday, 3 nights). I adult and a nine year old child.
When is the best day to book, when do they ususally lower the price? I've seen some ealier comments say Tuesday-Wednesday before the weekend, is that correct?
The hotel I'm looking at is
Fabulous Find in the West End = Washington Mayfair Hotel? and Absolute gem ideal for West End & Oxford St Shops, which hotel is that?
More tips?
Many thanks
Yes, Fabulous Find in West End is the Washington Mayfair, reviews aren't fantastic but could be worse I guess.
Absolute gem ideal for West End & Oxford St Shops = Radisson Edwardian Grafton. Acceptable but there are a lot better out there.
Prices are looking painfully high for your dates, I would probably go with the Mint Tower of London for £97/nt from Hotelopia or the H10 Waterloo at £130/nt inc breakfast from hotelpronto. Snap these up quick as I'm not sure prices will be going down at all.0 -

Thanks in advance!
wondering about this one...
Absolute gem ideal for West End & Oxford St Shops - 4* - London
Ugh. Marathon. The hotel you quote is the Radisson Edwardian Grafton, OK but not amazing.
Best location for you is Melia White House hotel available for £143/nt inc breakfast from HotelPronto, better hotel, same money and you get to eat.
In other areas, hotelstayuk (password vip) has Hilton Canary Wharf at £113 b&b & the Park City at £134 b&b. Lastminute has Mint Westminster at £143 and new secret hotel "Discover a modern hotel close to Tower of London" which is Mint Tower of London at £120. I also saw a decent rate on the Ashburn hotel somewhere.0 -
Hello everyone,
First time poster, long time reader. I'd appreciate some help. I'll be taking my mother and aunt to London on May 1-4, and would like to pamper them a bit in a very good hotel. We'll need 2 rooms, and I don't want to spend more than 150£ per night; total budget is therefore 900£.
I just saw on Lastminute a top secret offer for an "Iconic 5-star deluxe hotel in the heart of Mayfair." Having Googled the description, I think this is the Claridge's. Can somebody confirm this? It's just within my budget, so could someone also confirm whether 150£ per room per night is a good deal for this hotel. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks,
Marko
You didn't really think you'd get Claridges for that price did you? It's actually the May Fair hotel. Personally I wouldn't stay there but some people like it.
If you want a chance of getting a really good 5* hotel within your budget, you will have to play a risky game and wait. It's a particularly risky game since it's a bank holiday weekend (though bookings don't look very heavy yet).
If you're not prepared to risk, you will probably find a very good modern 4* within your price range and to include breakfast. The choice is up to you.0 -
Thanks for your answer. I look at the tripadvisor and the comments on this hotels are excellent.
But the area isnt´t ideal. We want to stay in Mayfair - St James - Soho - Covent Garden Area close to restaturants and shops.
Any more tips for the 9:th - 12:th April?
Thanks again!0 -

There's nothing I would personally recommend in the £120-30 range and in that area - how much are you willing to pay for your location? Obviously a lot of people want to stay as centrally as possible and since those are expensive areas, the hotels are generally pricier.0 -

I have a maximum of £145 as a budget.
Maybe impossible to find something now?0 -
Can't find anything else I would recommend in your budget in the area. Go with one of the secret hotels you were asking about, also bear in mind the H10 Waterloo is fairly conveniently located for the centre.0

Hi there, I have been trawling through the availability for 1nt next Friday 15th April in a double and wondered if you had any recommendations. Budget is up to £150 and would like anything central. Am leaning towards the Andaz which is £145 but wondered if it was worth waiting til next week?
Thanks
