Never.
But we did used to peruse through my mother's Kay's catalogue. Not gonna lie, I had never heard of Argos until the mids 1980s. My kids look more through the Studio cards catalogue than the Argos one. Although hubby likes to look through it.
This does look interesting though. (What you have posted Megan.) So I think I will go have a nose!0 -
Funnily enough that's exactly what Mr Duke said just the other day when he decided that he was no longer getting an Argos catalogue, thank God!
I didn't actually realise that Argos had been going that long, where have I been
As a child I used to look at the men in their underpants, you could actually see their pubes through holey pants :eek:0 -

That's what the Littlewoods and Grattan books were for. They used to put some other stuff in to make it look legit but they were basically just there so kids in the 80s could see middle-aged people in their pants.0 -
I also remember INDEX. They also had a catalogue, and a shop. They closed down in 2005. It was very similar to Argos, so one or the other had to go I think. And it was Index. It was owned by Littlewoods. Remember them?0

Wow!
When I was a child I would look through the catalogue and choose which item from each category was my fave and in my head would kit out an imaginary house with it all my choices haha! It was always an exciting day when we picked up the new book, and would always pick up a spare copy to take to my Granny (and I would worry we would be in trouble for taking two!!), it became a tradition!
Haha, I did exactly the same!! Kitchen equipment and bedroom furnishings!0 -

I always wanted a Mr. Frosty ice slushie-maker! Never got one though. Gutted.
I might buy one now!
