MSE News: Four million TalkTalk customers to get free upgrade

I've just activated my chosen Anytime Calls Boost. I chose it on 10/12/2015 and it should've become active after 24 hours, ie. on 11/12/2015.
So, I'll be checking the first daytime call I make to see if it's charged for or not.
And what is TT's definition of "12 months" for my exact cease date?: 10/12/2016 or 11/12/2016 or maybe even just 01/12/2016?
Again, it is to TT's eternal shame that anyone could trust them so little to treat their victims - sorry, customers fairly. If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

Thanks, You encouraged me to give another call to TT!
I needed a little time to cool off from the shock and unpleasant experience with couple of other TT's advisers I had a live chat and phone conversations with. They all were trying to convince me, that the 12 months Free Anytime Calls Boost is not going to be available to me since I have a 3 months of same Boost promotion applied to my account earlier. All I was being offered, was apologetic "Sorry! There is nothing we can do!" and a £10 one off credit to account, which I regarded as a spit in a loyal customer's face. There was no good result coming my way at all, when trying to express to TT's advisers my anger at company's false advertising, misleading and consequently leaving me with the appalling feeling.
I phoned the number given on my account page for Free Customer Upgrade 0800 230 0403 and spoke to a regular TT's CS adviser, but the young lady was not able to make any changes to my package or boosts. Still, she was kind to transfer my call to Loyalty Team.
As a result of having a 20+ mins conversation in a kind manner and looking through all present and available options, I ended up with a nice and very acceptable offer to renew my contract with the same monthly cost, but with all the available benefits.
If You are in a similar situation, where the desired "Free Offer" is being made unavailable and inaccessible without any other remedy offered, try to get through to Loyalty Team and be very polite in looking through Your account options for an early Renewal or Upgrade to package. Trust me, it will most likely return Your smile and the feeling of being a values customer!
Here is the result I received in email confirmation

I was advised to give call at the end of November next year if I want to cancel the Boost or to look for an offer at that time. I assume, that my Anytime Calls Boost 12 months runs out on the day it was activated in 12 months time. The exact detail of expiry is missing, but that was the same with my 3 months Boost given back in October, that I found out correct date only over the phone. So, will have to put a note in my diary before I forget.0 -

Thanks to Raimonds and others for this encouraging suggestion to try the Loyalty Team at TT.
I was on the phone for 1hour and 5 minutes to the upgrade team (50 minutes in total of waiting time, not chat time!), only like you guys to be told that I could not have what I wanted as an upgrade as I already pay for the anytime talk and 100 mins to mobiles per month. I was also told that if I cancelled this boost TT could not guarantee that the free upgrade would be available to me within the upgrade period remaining. I was offered £10 plus £5 for being on the phone for over an hour. I suppose that as a loyal customer of many years, I am worth it?0 -

Then go into you account and you should have the option to select it as a free upgrade. Unless they've changed their systems to stop it - but worst case scenario you have to reinstate the boost and carry on paying. But it's worth a try...0 -

firstly, welcome to moneysavingexpert forums.
secondly, when does your current contract expire?Trinidad - The hottest place to go0 -
You have the right to cancel a boost any time you want, so long as you've had it at least a month. So just cancel it - they can't stop you. Try the sales line I posted above, you get a quicker response. Don't tell them about the free upgrade.

I'm a little wary of cancelling my boost as it's currently half-price, so if I cancel and the free upgrade doesn't show as available then I'm back to paying £7.50 again.0 -
