  • Well, i tried theatening them with cancelling this morning, and they werent having any of it! still told me it would be £129! i spoke to cancellations who actually suggested speaking to sky+ to see if there was anything they could do for me! but nope! x
  • Hi,
I got Sky+ plus in Dec 2006 for £49 plus free install. The offer came by mail shot. When I rung the advisor said there was no such offer, so I read out all the details off the card and lo & behold (after putting me on hold to confirm this offer) they did it !.
In April this year I got another mail shot to recommend a friend to sky and they could get the same deal as new customer!
So the deals are out there. Good Luck.

well yeah, just make sure when u buy get it with the cables....or if its cheap enough buy separate.

and installation???? do u mean unplugging 1 box and plugging in the other??

Nah... the "horn" that collects the signal from the dish is different and has two cables leading from it.

  • I've heard that the cheap boxes are refurbished ones rather than brand new. Can anyone confirm whether that's true or not?
I cancelled my Sky sub but before I did they offered me a free upgrade and free fitting of Sky+ A week later when I phoned back to take up the offer it was now £50 and they told e it was a refurbished box. I cancelled

I also tried threatening with cancellation having tried to get a deal on sky+.They put me through to cancellations and accepted!! What do I do now? wait it out and hope they call offering a deal or eat humble pie and reinstate my sky? Help!

If you actually booked the disconnection (there's 30 days notice remember) the usual policy in these cases is to offer some sort of retention deal to keep you, it may not be what you wanted, but will probably save you money.

Keep in mind that they would much rather keep you than lose your money. If all else fails and they don't call/write to you then you can cancel the disconnection whenever you like, but I'd wait it out for a week or two ;)
