Roz although it's not a fix for what is obviously a problem that doesn't much concern MSE, you can go into your settings, change the option:

Default Thread Subscription Mode When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread.
Default Thread Subscription Mode:
to Instant email notification, then you will get an email each time a thread you have posted on has been replied to.

Have found a temporary fix for those...

Once you click on a Username to search their post history, scroll down to Search Options and set the fields "Find Posts" to Your last visit and Older, "Sort results by" to Last post date and Descending order.

Show results as Post search, but be sure to click Save Search Preferences. From there on, once you get the message No Results Found, by simply clicking the Search button, it should find them for you.

Its only a work around but a lot quicker than the current alternative Spam hunt.

Hmmm... Working for me by just making sure it's set to "Show results as posts" without having to bother with the rest.

I tried that several times over the last few days, and was always broken before, so something has rectified itself or been partially fixed there.

Proof of what I just said, is that this sort of search by keyword also seems to mostly work now, where it did not before.

Yep, works for me too now in the way fermi describes.
That's a lot quicker than other alternatives.
Still not back to where it should be, but a definite improvement.

A link like this using do=process (automation) with &showposts=1 (show results as posts) together is still not working, whereas on a fully working vBulletin search implementation it should and did before.

e.g: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/search.php?do=process&query=money&showposts=1

Performing the same search manually does work.
