Thought this was just another problem due to & living in a notspot.

Started 3 days ago, still broken, but at least I retain the old-style page.

Don't like the new one at all.

When is it going to be fixed? Thankyou for starting the thread tigsteroonie.

Oh the search facility is driving me mad. I use it a lot. :(

Is anyone else having this issue still? A few of us have checked and it's working this morning.

How was it working for people at MSE when it would appear to be NOT working for everyone else?

You don't check things out by using your non-typical MSE staff user-IDs, do you?

Isn't it normal practice to have some 'bog standard' usernames set up to test what results a 'typical' user (as opposed to staff) might be getting?

Oh now come on. This is the MSE Techie team we are talking about, how could they possibly formulate an idea as logical as that? :D

Yep, of course we tested it on different accounts. It was intermittent for us yesterday. It's being expedited so hopefully it should be fixed early next week.

Megan, why 'expedited' in your answer?
How far down the list of fix-its is this problem?
Just use correct, simple language please.

'Hopefully' doesn't sound very hopeful, I fear.

It's still broken in The Fens.

Then MSE seems to have more serious technical issues than I thought it had ... :(
  • I've been having problems for a few days. I always use the search facility and I always search for "E: ??/??".

My first problem is that there have been no new posts for several days on several of the current end date comps.

My second problem is that even if I'm putting in, say, "E: 16/11", I'm getting results from all over the shop, hardly any of which have "16" in the title.

My third, but ongoing, problem is that I only ever get a maximum of 12 pages of search results and I've never, ever been able to change this, when quite clearly some of the results could go on forever.

My final, and also very ongoing problem, is that if I search for, say, "E: 11/11" or "E:10/10" and so on, I'm getting ALL of the posts for November or with "11" in the title, or October or with "10" in the title, and so on.

I looked for the new look forum this morning to see if it's just the old look forum that's struggling, but I can't even find that now.

Why shouldn't she use a clear and unambiguous word that avoids clumsy sentence construction? Nothing wrong with 'expedite'.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.
  • Okay, with thanks to fermi, I did find the new look board, and for a moment I thought the date search facility was working on there fine. But I was mistaken.

This is taking too much time for me, so it must be taking loads of time for the volunteers who help run it. But I'll be back in a few days to see if it's fixed.
