It's still broken in The Fens.

Expedite just means that we've gotten it pushed to the top of the list. The Tech team covers the entire site - all the guides, all the tools, Cheap Energy Club and Forum, so we all have to fight for their time! But it goes to the top if it's impacting our users directly, which this is. (It's also a pain for us in the Forum team, don't worry!)

I say 'hopefully' because I wouldn't want to say 'definitely' and disappoint everyone if it didn't happen for whatever reason. Sometimes seemingly small issues can turn into big ones, so you can never know for sure.

At the moment adding this as a Firefox search plugin allows tracking some things down that the forum search can't cope with , especially via odd username, but again can't search for individual post results.

Still broken for me and has been for a few days. I think only about 1 in 10 searches "Find all posts by....." is working:

Having spent my working life in and around technical support of some kind, it's harsh on MSE Megan to criticise "expedite". Of course we'd like her to say it will be fixed on Monday 16th at 11am, but that isn't how the IT world works. For all we know the problem hasn't even been identified yet.

Without wanting to sound too much like Roy or Moss, I would in all seriousness recommend turning the servers that handle the database off and on again!

The Search this Thread does not work for a username nor for an ordinary term.

Test it on the current thread for username "fermi" or for the term "search" (or for both at the same time) - always gives "no matches".

That is a symptom of the same fundamental problem AFAIK.

Search is still utterly broken and makes the forum extremely hard and annoying to use - making it near impossible to keep up with threads that you've posted on. If it remains broken then I'll stop bothering with the forum.
