Just been pottering and pondering. Downstairs all dewebbed and dusted, washed up a few times, apart from that been getting all my figures ready to do my tax return tomorrow, they owe me a little money and with my gas refund now in that will fund my car service and the christmas party tickets for cricket club and my work do so well happy.
Feeling grateful for just being safe at home with the fire and my family. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
No words can describe people who carry out those acts. Very sobering.
I've had a lovely few days with my brother staying, plus visits from other friends. Frantic flying/food shopping on Tues and Wed then just enjoyed the company. My brother is pretty helpful and neat, so we kept up with any clearing up etc.
Have been asked to do yet more work at the uni, frantic rush to organise assessments before the students have exams after Christmas. Just when I thought I was catching up. Sigh.
Have chopped my way through the windfall apples, determined not to pick up any more as there is nowhere to put them. Freezer is full and I've had some lovely fresh apple juice, not to mention a range of apple puddings...........Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Morning all

Morning flyladies.
Sorry for not posting yesterday but I had a lovely day out with DH. I feel guilty for posting that with all the problems in the world, but I also think the only way forward is not to show fear but to carry on doing all things we love to do.
Did notice extra security at an event we went to yesterday though.
This morning I have cleaned up after one lazy dog, cleaned the fridge after a milk spill (yuk), done a meal plan for the week and a shopping list, WUDUPA the breakfast dishes and thats about it.
The weather is atrocious so not sure when or if I'll get out with the dogs, but I want to spend some time in the greenhouse as well as doing jobs indoors.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning all,
Garden flooded, but most of the water seems to be helpfully running down the garden path out to the front of the house. The beck in front of our house is raging scarily, thankfully we are about 20 foot above the water so it's fine. There is also a stream running down our drive which seems to be helpfully having the effect of sweeping up all the leaves I haven't swept!
Today's plan is not much. Daily stuff, plus taking some stuff to the tip that I flung yesterday, and some more ironing I reckon. Plus another dog swim.
Have a good Sunday x0 -
well after being awake 22hours I absolutely crashed last night.. Pixie stayed in herbed so I got a rather incredible 6 hours sleep.. practically unheard of for me!
vacuumed back room and hallway already.. I need to sort the middle room but OH has furniture to shift about first.. my back is done in from all the lifting and shifting this week so I refuse to do any more!
My kitty cowl is half done.. its very cute.. think it might need to be a bigger size though.. I'm not sure what size child it is for, the lady never said.. I should have asked
chased a couple of missing ebeast parcels.
OH gone to shop
Off to make a cuppa and do some kitchen clearing again and make a cuppa.. that might be it for me today though.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Morning all
Very windy here today, woke me up in the night so slow start here today.
WM1 is on the line with extra pegs, it will be great if the school shirts get dried quick. The floor is back flat so any moisture I can keep out of the house (ie drying washing outside) is good.
I'm going to carry on concentrating on paperwork today but need to also go food shopping and may go to DS3's cricket match although DH is home so may take him.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Weather seems to have abated here, so I've been out and got few bits of groceries - they are all put away and I've made myself a fresh coffee. Well, I say fresh, it's ood lol but smells good
So I have about 4hrs to myself - I want to tidy the childrens wardrobes - pulled more trousers out of DS box to deal with his growth spurt! Also need to empty the kitchen bin, sort the basket in the LR - full of learning journey books from nursery and school. Not sure what to do with them, tbh.
i want to do a bit of cooking and lunch prep for the next 2-3 days. And maybe watch a film if I've any time left!
Go you, jazee I can't seem to motivate myself into exercise at the mo. Maybe I'll drag the wii fit out...Bossymoo
