    Yes, but the French authorities KNEW it was coming.. they were ready and prepared.. they responded way too fast with a plan and order too meticulous to have been a shock reaction.

    I did like the translation to 'the terrorists want to scare us!' .. well duh!!!

    The overall response was quite impressive.

    Morning all,

    Watching the news this morning makes me want to crawl back into bed in despair. What a world.
    Dd1 asked what is going on. How to explain? I can't .

    Busy weekend ahead so crawling into bed not an option. Cracking on with lists until lunchtime x

    It's just horrific. We have had messages from DHs aunt that they are ok. My heart goes out to those who weren't so lucky.

    All credit to the French taxi drivers who turned off their meters and ferried people home for free.

    Discovered last night that a plug socket in the kitchen is currently not earthed properly. I have been using this plug daily for over 19 years. Thank goodness for rubber soled shoes...

    Maybe the French will show a little more empathy for the refugees who left homes where they faced much worse than that every single day!!

    Evening all,

    Seem to have spent the whole day busy. All daily stuff done, ironing chipped into, dog walked (more like swimming) quite a lot of stuff sorted for flinging. Only problem is, as children have been cooped up all day the place still looks a mess. Added to this, OH has been tiling the new bathroom (which is good) but also walking tile dust everywhere.

    Blooming dog bothering me for another walk. Not likely! It is lager, cake, log fire and The Wire for me tonight x
