I worked out the dating on the Vegetables and fruit within a few visits by myself.

To find out the current week just look at a few packages of different items nearby. Day date '1' starts on the Monday.

Week dates are just reset at the end of the 52 week cycle, it's that easy.

They just set that as the first week, maybe it's their first week of their financial year.

I worked at a company and their financial year and week number started on 1st January.

As for looking for the vegetable out of date stock, my local Adli manager was blowing his top about stock not being checked for removal at the right time.

His 'input' was passed down through the employees and they are now always checked.

They can make as many programmes about Aldi as they like, people will see through any attempts to put them off shopping there. We're not stupid. Aldi offer value for money, i'm not interested in a "shopping experience" i go to buy food and occasionally, other stuff, not for a day out !!
  • All they had to do was talk to the thousands of people ripped off by their favourite parking firm Parking Eye.
    Save £10, get a £100 parking ticket.
That would have turned the stones over.
I do Contracts, all day every day.

shopped in Aldi since they have been in South Wales (I know the back of beyond too many :D)
never been in store for longer than 45-60 minutes doing a full shop but there again we are not covered by Parking Eye.

It seems week number are official http://weeknumber.net/42 so there is no confusion, this week is week 43 and as always, monday starts the week, so today the code would be 4203

    Not true -

to quote from the site :
"This site uses week numbers as defined in the ISO 8601 standard (other systems exist, but they are not supported by this site)"

Totally disappointed by the entire programme.

Time targets are not unique to Aldi and as pointed out on here, the checkout process is designed so you pack your bags at the shelves after paying or pack it as you put it into the car. Scanning items per minute are no different to any other supermarket.

Throwing goods - I am not surprised this happens, who can actually reach all the way to back of the top shelves, whilst not good practise, I can see how staff cut corners to throw the items rather than get a ladder (never ever seen staff in any other store use a ladder to stack shelves)

H&S - I suspect this is not unique to Aldi and is a problem in other warehouses. The girl who knelt on the glass freezer lid - well I have little sympathy over that, surprised she wasn't sacked for gross misconduct but i am glad she was ok.

BB Date - a BB Date is just that, best before. As a consumer I have a much simpler system of calculating out the 'cryptic' date codes Aldi use - its called eyes.

And as for the so called industry expert, didn't he do a great job at Iceland, Wickes and Focus DIY...not.

30mins of my life I will never get back - thank goodness I didn't have to listen to that clap trap for an hour. Biased and unobjective doesn't even begin to sum it up.

Definitely not back of beyond, I'd call it God's chosen country!:D

We have that parking system in my local branch but it allows for 1.5 hours which is more than enough for anyone IMO and I know why they do it as branch is less than a mile from city centre so otherwise people would use it for illegal parking while at work. Nothing new there.

On the one occasion I had a problem (car wouldn't start when I went to leave so had to wait for breakdown people), the staff were extremely helpful. I went in and explained why I couldn't leave and assistant manager wrote his name on a piece of paper and said I should mention him if I was given a ticket which I wasn't.

Actually you are slightly wrong on the dates.

Week number is correct but day number would be '01' for the Monday in Aldi.

And before you say I am wrong, this was confirmed by various employees I've talked to .

Aren't you both right? Monday is 01, which makes Wednesday 03.
