  • Very happy to report that another £1.50 made it's way to the savings tin yesterday. I'm not sure I'll be ble to add any today because I'm not planning on leaving the house and spending money in this horrid weather.

Last night I told OH about this challenge. He thought it was a good idea so now he's going to do his own savings tin too :T

    Hi there everyone, :hello:

I'm back again for another year of potting. Saved a fantastic £341.90 last time, so I'm back with a target of £500 for next year.

    Well done everyone, keep potting!

Hi potters, wow 4 pages to catch up with already!
I've started the year off with a few £1 coins in the big pot & a few odd sods in the shrapnel tin. I can't remember how much though. The brain is foggy!

I took my SPC 8 savings to Barclays & the lovely cashier said he would change them up for me because I'd chosen a quiet time. So maybe other banks would be willing if you pick your time carefully.

Time to take my gorgeous fur baby for a walk before it rains again. After that need to pop to asda & I'm determined to find more roadkill this year. People around here are way too careful for my liking lol.

A very Good Morning to you, SPCers! What some weather, but does it deter us from saving? NEVER!!!!!! :j Have a great day and be tickled pink at your savings - or - if you don't quite fall into that category then make a conscious effort to do better this next time round!! ;) {{{Hugs}}} to all those in need of them.

As if I'd ever hide from you, Lost....when you are already - Lost!!!!! :rotfl:Good to see you!!

    Yay new thread.
Thank you Sue, count me in again this year and thanks for not deleting me from the list after my dismal year. ;)
I promise to try harder this year and am starting off with a nice golden £1 coin.

    love mumof3 x

NEVER would I do that, mumof3plusoh!!! It really doesn't matter to me how much people save, we all have different wages, commitments etc - BUT - I love it when folk are so excited at what they've saved, and that doesn't matter at all as to what the amount is, it's the pleasure that counts!

However, I KNOW you want to do better so, as I said to someone yesterday: If you want a nice surprise at the end of the saving year, work out what amount you'd like and what's needed per week to achieve it - then still put your bits of change in as well without holding the amounts in your head - you're bound to come out on top that way. Go for it, mumof3plusoh, and turn that frown tother way up!!!!!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!! :D Come to the thread at least once a week and cast your eyes over post 1 of page 1 to get tips!
    Love, Sue :kisses3:

I know what you mean, Westie, but at present I just have far too much to do with running the 2 threads...and living (as well as health problems!) ;) One day when things are calmer I'll take a look at it again then. Meanwhile, thank you for caring! :D

I would like to save at least £1000 for 2016. Not sure how to achieve that. I don't want to set a target and feel stressed about it. We don't celebrate Christmas but December is still our most expensive month due to DD's birthday 3 days before Christmas.

This year I have watched my pennies like never before. Made a big dent on debts, small dents on the mortgage and paid no interest on any debt. Thanks to the MSE members and their tips and tricks my family have still managed to live a comfortable life at the same time sorting out our finances. Even saving seems fun. I never been so dedicated to penny savings before. But it makes so much of a difference. Anyway I am aiming higher for next year so please keep the encouragement going. It feels like a commitment, but in a good way. Thanks to all and good luck potting in SPC 9.

Baby Angel - why not take a look at my reply to mumof3plusoh, it could help you to achieve what you'd like. best wishes. :D

Ahhh, bless you Lost, that is so lovely, thank you very much.

Ok, Pollygarter, your Target has been updated, all the best on achieving it!! :j

Well done, getting-there-slowly, that's the way to save - snaffle whatever change you can - and POT IT!!!!!!! :j

I don't blame you for not venturing out, Daisychain, my dh just came back with our dog, you'd have thought he'd run a marathon, mind you they went 2 & 1/2 miles, but oh, that wind!!! A great pot and excellent news about your OH!!!! You'll be quids in next Nov!!! :j

Still reeling from the excitement of it all, chickadee! You deserve to be, a mighty fine sum! Your Target is done, good luck.

Good potting, tatabubbly, enjoy your peaceful day.

What a lovely banker yours was, owlet, as you say though, time must be crucial to them as with any other walk of life. Never mind about the amount potted..it's the actual potting that counts, keeping the contact on the thread too, as it not only helps you but helps motivate us all. ;) Be careful with the wind and your fur ball.

£1.10 in the pot that DH flipped across to me, brilliant!!!!!
Have a lovely Saturday, Potters, be careful in that wind!
