Went to a bonfire last night. There was a spectacular show of fireworks it was amazing! Anyway, it was a free bonfire but I bought parched peas and a burger later on. Not bad though, and all for charity. All my change, except my £1 coins is now in my doggy money box. I filled it last year and had to transfer some to another tin, but I've had the dog since I was about 11 so it's quite special.

A very rainy day here. I think I'll do my food shopping (groan...) then pop off to the gym for an hour. At least I'll stay dry. Then I'll use their shower and hot water to wash my hair.

    Have a lovely day everyone!

I got a load of change this morning so I've emptied my purse into my pots before it gets spent. £8 in main pot & £1.33 in odds pot :-)

Horrible grey day here. Taking my daughter & her Dutch friend shopping before dropping her at the airport. DD can buy me a Costa hot choc while I'm waiting & I can have a while to relax with my book!

Woo hoo I have a new job AND a start date! Phew was not expecting that to happen so quickly! Roll on Wednesday.

I have to cut hours and pay so won't change my target but I get an extra day a week with my baby boy - which is totally worth it to me :)

    A great start folks! :)

Hi Sue, can I join you guys please? I'm relatively new to MSE but looooove the DFW challenges :) I bought a cheap terramundi today and emptied my change into it, only £1.50 but it's a start! Xx
Hi everyone I have plucked up the courage to write on this thread am a bit of a lurker lol.

Anyway just wondering if I can join please I have already started saving cause going on holiday next August so was wondering if I start from tomorrow brand new tin and I save anything up to a pound if I could start but open up my tin 1st August and start again after my holiday and then open it again the 3rd of November. Thank you :)

Of course you can join us, [Deleted User] and theresamum2. A very warm welcome to you both. :grinheart Have fun saving, posting and enjoying the banter. You'll find your numbers at the bottom of the list on the 3rd postof page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We empty our pots and declare our savings in November, please make a note of this year's date: 5th Nov.

Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away. ;)

*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.

[Deleted User] - if ever you need help, please just ask us. By the way, £1.50 is a great start, it means you're on your way!!

theresamum2 - you had to pluck up the courage to write here??! I'm not an ogre, though........! There's absolutely no problem about saving for your holiday then starting again when you come back. Just be sure to put whatever you saved for the holiday on your signature so you don't forget when it comes to declaring next November.

Many thanks for you invaluable help, Lynne, a golden star wings it's way to you. :staradmin Though Head Girl?? Tis a long time since I was never one of those - born rebel, still am!! :rotfl:

Hurry up and find that tin, chasingthedream, you're missing out on valuable saving time!!

Good morning and thanks for shiny new thread, Iv declared my total for 2015 and would love to join in again 2016 please, I would love to try and save £320 for this challenge please. Good luck every one, many thanks to Sue UU and any one else involved for great running of the thread.:T

Hi again, cattysmum, I've just been chatting to you on SPC 8 and here you are/were again. I've updated your new Target for £320, all the best in achieving it. Thank you so much for the very kind words, though I love it...until jakes-mum appears, then I know[STRIKE] trouble's brewing[/STRIKE] where in for fun. :D

Sounds as though you really enjoyed yourself at the firework do,
chickadee, but parched peas...?! Sounds different! :( It sounds as though there is wonderful meaning to your doggy money box, save well in it then. ;) Very :money: in using the shower and hot water at the gym - why not!

It's good to see you again, Buffy...a little more would be better! :naughty: There are certainly very emotive scenes at all Remembrance Day Services. Your target is updated, best wishes with it.

Marvelous news, Hicksy! :T I hope it works out really well for you, and who could complain about spending more time with little Jack!!!! :A

There's another up top, Lynne, and you're welcome as it was a great help to me.

It's so nice to see more of you, mummytummy, and the flag as it's a symbol that you're around! :D
Enjoy the rest of a lovely, though rather dismal Sunday, SPcers.
