Evening all :hello:Good to hear of your £10er safely away, Lynne!
Ah, winter's just about arriving now, I often think of you when they talk about your area on the beeb weather. Wrap up Lynne...in a manner of speaking! :rotfl: How's your foot now?
Ankle is much better, thank goodness, and I have endless praise for the darling physio who was so patient with me. It still aches at the end of the day and is a bit swollen occasionally but apparently that's normal for at least twelve months. Thanks for rememberingDid someone say Christmas?!?!?!We can mention Christmas now?!

Great News !! My new freezer arrived this afternoon and is now switched on ready for shopping the morrow.
Potted an odd 20p found on kitchen shelf ??
Hope you all staying warm and dry and enjoying the weekend

I am most upset as I was promised snow! I even went weekend shopping yesterday in preparation of this momentous occasion that was to happen last night/this morning! and did we get anything?? not one pigging flake! Lies I tell you! I reacon DH only told me these massive porkies so he wouldn't have to go to Mr T this morning  I want my snow!
You wanted to mention Christmas, jakes-mum?? You should've mentioned it, and YOU of all folk should know we start to use the C word in October! Wass up with you...that's best not answered.Your poor little Lily, bless her, I bet she's almost scared to move. :A
I don't know what you're moaning about re the snow, but you had some snow a few weeks ago - I didn't, none today either! Had we been in Scotland, Cumbria or oooop north then maybe so, but when they do...they moan about it!!!! We'll have it instead eh!Good saving. :xmassign:

So, there you are at last, fingersxed, lovely to see you, and let the saving begin indeed! :j
Excellent saving again, 32b3. I'm so glad you've sorted the 10 kiddies out, they'll love you for sure even though they won't know who you are, they'll know people cared enough to give!
More for the pot then, Chutney, just brilliant.wealthygirl wrote:Today I went to buy the children a winter quilt each and have a nice shiny £2 to add to my pot too:j I am hoping the children will be a lot warmer tonight, as it has suddenly got very cold here.
I can just picture the warm glow inside you tonight, wealthygirl, knowing your little darlings are snug as bugs in their new duvets. One of so many joys of being a parent for certain. :A Well done with the saving.Had a lovely lunch with DH & DD. DH had his first pint since before his H.A.

Oh Modesty, I'm so very sorry to hear that, my heart truly went out to you all, and after all you've been through this last year. I don't use this at all flippantly, but it's the type of thing that could so easily give a person a heart attack! Try to put it behind you as soon as you're able, I know it's not easy at all, but neither's letting it get to you. I hope the TW that did that is able to sleep tonight.
Concentrate on the lovely meal, DH's first pint...and his good health! Good potting btw.lynnejk wrote:Don't worry Sue - I have donned the thermals

I believe you about the thermals, Lynne, surely all Scots are programmed to do so from September onward!
I well remember the ankle, and the time it took to heal, but what a time it takes to get fully over it, a lower weight bearing joint clearly. Well done your Physio! :A
You need a freezer in SCOTLAND?????! Save your money and hang the food out of the window in a bag!!! :rotfl: I put the smilie on, but that was what DD and I did in Altenkirchen, Germany for 3 weeks when she had no fridge in her appt.Seriously, I'm really pleased for you.
:xmassmile Sleep well, Potters, and have a lovely Sunday...and treat your pots kindly!

I worked this morning, then went out this afternoon to find something to wear to the funeral. Now THAT was sad: a jeans and t-shirt kinda girl, going around "nice shops" saying "I am looking for something to wear to my father's funeral." I went to 2 different shops.I was in NEXT for nearly 2 hours, tried on no less than 8 different pairs of black trousers and 5 different cream-coloured tops. The young girl helping me was brilliant-advising,fetching,appraising.It was very sad, though.
Anyway, before all that I bought some AUS dollars.I paid £305.90 for $620 at Tesco (it was all the AUS dollars he had left after a big purchase this morning).I paid with £320,and when my change came back with 2 x £2 coins,I thought "pottage!".So I have potted a 10p piece,a £10 note and the 2 x £2 coins (can't remember the last time I had more than one £2 coin in my change-certainly didn't in the whole of SPC 8 ).
Thank you again for all the lovely wishes.Guess I'd better go and put some clothes in a suitcase, considering we will be leaving here at about 8am to go out for breakfast with OH and children, then driving straight to airport .
See you all in a few weeks.Be good!! xSPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

I hope it goes as well as it can do for you Saver-Upper....please take good care of yourself, make sure you have something to eat on the Plane....We'll be here when you get back xXx Safe Journey xXx
Managed to Pot another £1 earlier on....I have one more pound in my Purse, I'm saving it for the rest of Sunday in case I need it, if not then I'll Pot it at the end of Sunday...
And yes Sue, we had proper proper snow yesterday morning....It was coming down like someone had cut up a load of paper and was chucking it out of buckets....It didn't stick though, was too wet on the ground....
I've got a rotten cold again....My second one in about 6 weeks so I'm surprised and not in a pleasant way!!Oh well, they say it's the first couple of days that are the worst with a cold and so I'm hoping by the end of Sunday that I'll feel a whole lot better....fingers crossed....
Night Night Everyone....Sweet Dreams xXx0 -

Potted a fabulous 3p roadkill yesterday. Nothing else to report, except we have had a little fluttering of snow here over the past few days...but it hasn't settled. Makes a change from being on flood alert after the recent storms...0

Well done, everyone:T. Love this thread, fast-moving and fun, really happy that I've found you and am now a part of it:j
I'm still going on about my initial potting experience (really must get out more, I sound such a sad act:o).
Just weighed the tinfull out of curiosity to see what £14.40's worth of coppers and other coins of 20p and under actually weigh as they are mighty heavy. Shocked to find they weigh 1.855 kg (that's 4 lbs 1.4 oz!) without the tin:eek:.
Might try using a lidded bucket that I can seal and keep at floor-level:rotfl:. Will only be saving small-value coins and expect there'll be a lot of them by the opening date but sadly without a great deal of value:(0
