I am delighted to declare the sum of £258.78, 78p of which I reckon was roadkill as I went for whole pounds. I only did half a year so will set myself a target of at least double for next year.
I will try and find a new pot in Cornwall this weekend, ideally a naff one from one of the pointless tat shops that I love looking in when I'm down there. It will also serve as a worthwhile reminder that if you save little and often a nice short break is possible.
The £2.50 I didn't spend on coffee today will be used to start next year's pot.
Well done everyone  and thanks again Sue
You're so welcome, Antomac, I love it as there are so many friendly people like yourselves! This side of the PC is an amazing place to be at times like this...so exciting!
For the time you've been with us, you've done incredibly well!!!! Many congratulations on a really fantastic sum!! :j:T:j I sincerely hope you both love every minute of your break. A marvellous idea with the pot, fingers crossed you can get one.
That message to Sammywas perfect, but could I ask you to highlight the names on such encouraging pieces, they could end up meaning the world...so long as they're seen!
Many thanks Antomac and brilliant saving!
Very well done, Modesty, a cracking bit of savings to cherish there!!!!:T:dance: Are you alright? I've missed you so much and was concerned about you all. :smileyhea
I understand exactly what you mean, mrs-moneypenny...and why not - as it's such an exciting time of our saving year! You pop in and have a look whenever you like! I don't like to hope too soon, but I think I have a healthy feeling about the Grand Total, we'll see!Westie wrote:dont let your VSP slack haha... im watching you from all corners...

Sue,
Good point about highlighting names - Common sense has never been a close friend of mine. When I saw people referring to roadkill on here I genuinely used to think they were picking up dead animals off the road and couldn't work out how it was making them money! I'd like to say I was speechless, Antomac, well I am really but....:rotfl::rotfl: As a nature lover that's the only term I'd ever associated with, then I came to MSE and things changed - a lot!!! Strangely enough I only came in to have a look round as my DD said it was really good, since then I doubt I could ever go out and shut the door on it for good. You're so right though this is an amazing forum for certain, and look what it's done for so many! :grinheartSue xxNB. 2nd November will be the opening date for 2017.

It is so inspiring seeing the total amounts saved 😀
I would like to declare £1313.38
I am using £1000 for my wedding dress (exciting) and banking the £313.78 to go towards our holiday in the summer to Disneyland Paris.
I can't believe I have managed to clear all my debts and save that amount 😀:rotfl:Sealed Pot challenge no: Target £1000 :rotfl:

*cough*
Drum roll please.....
#501 declaring an amazing, jaw-dropping total of....£12.19...:rotfl:
Takes a bow and exits stage left, blushing furiously...
Ah well, it was never going to be a huge amount as it was roadkill and shrapnel, but it does pay for Small to go to the pantomime with his class this year, so I'm cool with that.
every penny counts as they say well done you, I hope the small one enjoys the pantomime....
