LEAVE IT ALONE, Ruth, or you'll be the one who's in deep water!! :naughty: Nearly said something different there but thought best not! ;)

I have Sue but it's so very hard! I have raided my virtual sealed pot and moved £1200 into my new help to buy ISA. I know it's still saved so not technically raided but it means my sum for Christmas is looking very low and i'm so desperate to find out how much is in my sealed pot.

Ah well, only a month and a half to go.

    Hello potters

I've been on my holidays so haven't posted in a couple of weeks. Back to it today though - got some catching up to do on all your posts - so happy birthday/anniversary/well done to all those that I've missed - I'll work back through your posts during the week.

Haven't got much to put in my pot at the moment just a couple of pounds, but hope to have more later in the week.

  • Hey everyone! Haven't been on in a while as been very busy in work. Also had to break in to my pot for urgent car repairs :( But back to it now and another £5 added today. Hoping to build it back up enough to reach my target in November!

£18.02 potted this week. £18 plus 2 separate Roadkill pennies. I do get excited by a bit of Roadkill. Also like the new fivers but had to explain to the youngsters at work that were once such things as pound notes :(

  • Various coinage potted but forgot to count up so can't declare an amount :o

I do have a shocking number of £2s these days... I started self-employed work recently so now every time I get paid with a £2 coin I swap it for other coinage and pot the £2s in the holiday pot... and I now refuse to spend all £2s I get unless it's a life or death emergency of course -- I think I'm obsessed with £2 coins now :rotfl:

    Roll on November :j

Hi folks and I hope you're all enjoying part 1 of a wonderful weekend!! Keep on saving whatever you're able to when you can as you'll be so pleased you made that extra effort when declaration day arrives!! :grinheart

To those of you unwell or with other problems/issues, here are some special {{{hugs}}} to help you get well soon. We're all thinking of you. :grinheart
Good Heavens, mrs-moneypenny, little wonder you've not been with us with so much going on at home! Still, That has to be your first priority for sure! Al least you're still saving. :A

Your suspicion was correct Sue. Into the pot it went.

YAY!!!! An excellent idea of yours, Frogletina!! :j

Ah not to worry, Ruth, sadly we can't always do exactly as we'd hoped with our savings; life usually throws up another challenge just when we think all's going well. You can only do your best Ruth, but as you say, you've still a little while to go. ;)

Hello there siju, I'd started to wonder if you were alright so to hear you've been on holiday was good. :grinheartI hope you went somewhere nice and enjoyed yourselves.

It's so good to see you back with us, Evo! Don't worry though as we understand folk have lives to lead. A shame you had to use some of your savings but sadly cars are always giving us plenty of necessary ways to need to throw cash at...or give very grudgingly, but safety HAS to come first as we found out (see below)!! :D Still more saving time left. ;)

Oh very well done, MrsShazbat!! You're doing really well, but don't stop just yet! ;)

That's a thought, Antomac, needing to explain to folk about £1 notes almost dates us a little! Still, I far prefer the rattle of the coins! :dance:Great potting again for you...plus some roadkill!!!

There's a lovely amount saved, Chutney, excellent. :D I'm pleased you've enjoyed time spent with your family, it does the heart good for certain.

Hubby and I are having big problems with our wifi at present and have had to give daily rubbish readings of such poor download speeds to our ISP. We've now got to wait to hear from BT to see if it's line problems or whether it's the router that's at fault. They reckon it'll be about 3 weeks until normal service is back! Darned good job it won't be affecting the 3rd of November!!! :rotfl: Ah well, at least £15 has been potted which makes me feel a whole lot better......though £180 had to go on 2 new tyres for the car, but best to be safe! :D

Here's hoping you're having a cracking weekend, folks. Never stop the potting!

    Sue xx

  • Hello dear Sue and hi to fellow potters,

Remember me?? So sorry I haven't been around for a long time but my lovely FiL passed away after a traumatic (make that very traumatic) illness at home followed by almost 6 weeks in hospital where they were pulling out all the stops to send him home to an empty flat when he was clearly bed bound, very ill and confused. His death certificate shows bone marrow failure and sepsis. We were distraught and feeling very helpless and pressured.....

Anyway, back to normal at last and still potting quietly away in the background. I expect my pot has suffered too as it was costing an arm and a leg to park at the hospital every day but I am hoping to step up the coinage until the big day :)

Hope everyone is well. I'm sure I've missed loads of news but I'll try and catch up on at least a bit of it.

    Have a good day x
