I have already put around £1 in to a pot consisting of coppers and other random change, I have found lying round the house.

  • Thanks.

I've just managed to find £1.01 in my purse in odd change and put that in the pot too.

At the moment it's only an old coffee jar and unsealed. However that may have to change as I mentioned to my partner that I was saving money in it and he wasn't to touch it. And his response was 'well if I need train fare I'm going to raid the tin'
I have subsequently hidden it. But may have to pop to pound land and buy one of those sealed tins. :)

  • Evening all,

Some nice potting work going on this close to Christmas. I've been a little quiet on here as working lots of extra hours to help with the costs of Birthdays and Christmas but have continued potting here and there. Bank account took a hit today as I've helped my DD buy her first car and make her road legal. No way I would have achieved that a few months ago prior to my lightbulb moment I'd have been scratching around to make it through the month. Now I'm thinking about everything I spend and saving/earning at every opportunity, and what a difference it has made :)

    Have a good weekend everyone,
    SP x
  • If anyone was wondering, these are my pots:

Hello Kitty holds the coppers, and HappyCat holds the silvers and the odd £1 coin.

    Had them both for years.

Well DS made his first repayment toward the xbox today, a very nice £20 for my pot :D (It was supposed to be £15 but he didn't ask for any change so I didn't offer any :rotfl:)

Also had a few bit of shrapnel to throw in there as well so a very healthy potting this evening.

Went for our meal out and really wish we hadn't bothered! DH's breaded scampi didn't seam to have any scampi in it and the peas looked bigger! and . . well . . . I like my steak well done but bloomin heck, it was black! Struggled to get the steak knife through it! The waiter presented it to me with a flourish and a 'tada!' face and I was so shocked that I couldn't get my mouth working till he had walked off! I don't think we were the only table unimpressed and an email to their headquarters is next on my list after this, I even took a photo to show how burnt it was :( We didn't bother with pudding and went to c0-op instead :(
