Shhhh. Don't tell hubby but tonight I was sorting out washing from his sports bag ahead of the end of the season (winter sports) and I just happened to come across £21. What's his is mine and all that.....could have been worse for him as he dropped £10 just before that but I was a good girl and returned that one!

That's my kind of lucky find MrsC....tobe :)

Well I'm enjoying my last day in work before Easter with a delicious hot cross bun and coffee. I'll be 21 again tomorrow so although everyone else is working, I'm taking the day off  I'm going to bake a cake ready for the family get together this weekend.

Put £1.00 in my pot last night and have another £3.12 to add to it tonight.

I'm not back in work until Wednesday, so probably won't be posting until then. Happy Easter everyone:easter_ba:EasterBun

    Happy Easter to everyone.

Haven't been posting on this thread a while now. Every time I see the pot I feel guilty and chuck something in. Not sure how much is in there but few pounds does get in there once in a while.

First post back after the 'Mea Culpa' post.

Mortgage agreed, and deposit sent, now I feel po' so I have to start paying more attention to my neglected pots.

Taking Easter off, then going for it!
Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts, I need more Piriton already. Stupid pollen.

It's PAYDAY! Checked the bank balance this morning and I was thankfully still in the black at the end of the pay month so that means that I can pot the £40 for the kitchen that the wee fella bought for himself from his Christmas money. Excited muchly. I never knew I could save so much money until I've put my mind to it!

Will see if there's anything else to add to it later tonight and pop back in.

Happy Easter everyone. I hope you all have a funfilled weekend. I must remember to boil some eggs for the wee fella to roll on Sunday as he won't remember last years.

    Tis me!!:j

Have so much coinage in my purse,it won't close,so will pot that in a few minutes.

Nothing much happening with the extension at the moment. As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago,the kitchen was being installed. Then last week ,kitchen floor was put down, and looks absolutely beautiful .So pleased with it.

    Now,nothing is happening!! :(

Bedroom still needs to be floored and decorated, bathroom needs a shower, toilet and tiling, and kitchen still needs painting. The sodding painting makes me want to cry!!The extension itself was finished over a month ago.The painter,(recommended by,or one of the builders'),made an appointment about a week ago to come around and give us a quote. Was meant to be here 6.30pm last night.I know the traffic around here was bad, with everyone getting away for the holidays,so at 7pm I phoned to ask if he was on his way.He sounded a bit confused, ummed and ahhhed a bit, then told me he had already been and visited the wrong customer :eek::eek:.
(I can't even imagine how that converation would have gone down:"Hi,Mrs Bloggsy-who-isn't-Saver-upper".
    "Hi,Mr Painter,come in...."

Wouldn't most people have said "Oh,um,yes,um,er,-I wasn't expecting you today"???)

So,now he can't get to me until Tuesday night,6.30pm.I asked if he was sure he would be able to fit in the work at all.He said "Yes,I have you pencilled in for 18th April". WHAAAATTTTTT!!!!
My plan was to leave the kids at inlaws' alot these holidays, come over and start cleaning and tidying the house, and be ready to move back in before school goes back (11th April). Now it looks like it will be at least another month, probably 5-6 weeks.I just feel like crying.

On the off-chance,I phoned another painter (friend of a friend's sister-in-laws' great uncles' cousin or something.).He was lovely, and said that he would love to help out, being so close geographically, etc, but he is now taking bookings for work for January 2017 :eek::eek:.

    Still want to cry xx

    Off to pot £28.00,including 12x £1 coins,and 6x £2 coins

Hellloooo again all SPCers!!!! I hope you're all enjoying a really lovely weekend, despite the awful weather! What a weekend it's set to be too, I just hope you all did as I did and really made the best of yesterday! :grinheart

I see you're keeping as consistent as ever, Chutney, very well done!

Lovely to see you, KONG, and it's good to see you're keeping up with the saving. :D

I'll take your word for you being the shrapnel queen, Dizzy Imp, as though I'd argue about it! Keep it up whatever you get, it all makes a real difference!
Anyway....In Potting news.....Things are a bit financially difficult here but I AM keeping up with everything in terms of Bills, Food, Rent, Debt Commitments, etc.....that makes me really proud....but the downside is that I can't Pot a lot....just little bits here and there....BUT, the GOOD side is that I haven't had to take money OUT of my Pot, which is a GREAT thing!! :A

Sue, I'm so glad that you had a wonderful time at the Wedding....They can be such precious occasions with very special memories for you to cherish...

Hello there, Helen! I was hoping all was well with you so I'm really pleased to see you again. Well done with all you've been doing, and all the best in definitely qualifying in or around July! ;) You do your very best in potting, though I know from your own thread you're doing the very best for yourself full stop so keep it up!!! :T
You are so right about my DGD's wedding, all weddings in fact, they are fantastic occasions and bring out the very best in people! :heartpuls

It doesn't matter how much it is, f0xh0les, the most important thing is...that you're saving! :j

Have lost count of how much money but just all loose change in my purse after shopping. I have never had a sealed tin before and can't believe how heavy it is. Also potted 2p roadkill .

Not to worry about losing count, plumduff, in many ways it's a good thing. It's so good to hear that, having never had a sealed pot before, you're doing so well with it!! Keep potting all you can!

oooooh, what a good saver you are on behalf of your hubby, MrsC....tobe, how could he fault you! ;) So long as you gave him his £10er he won't be suspecting a thing!!!! :rotfl:

It's good to see you dropping in, Baby Angel, and if feeling guilty helps you pot a lot more then feel as guilty as is possible!!!! :rotfl:

I take it that means you had your Birthday yesterday, siju, so here's wishing you A Very Happy (though belated) Birthday! :bdaycake: The wishes may be late, but the meaning is just the same I promise! Have a super weekend with the family and enjoy that cake! :j Great savings BTW.

I know it's very hard for you right not, Saver-upper, but try hard to focus on the lovely things that ARE done ie. the kitchen floor looking so absolutely beautiful! Imagine being in it later on, it'll all happen maybe not as fast as you'd wish, but....! For now, enjoy your Easter with the young ones. It's lovely to see you. :D

Brilliant saving, 12 month challenge!!!! Well done in clearing up after hubby!! :j

Our DGD & her DH return home from their honeymoon tomorrow! We had another Face Time call yesterday, so lovely to see her the gorgeous scenery too. :grinheart

Take care, everyone and many {{{hugs}}} to all those feeling poorly or a bit low, look after yourselves.

Have a WONDERFUL EASTER, Potters, and really make the most of it.:grinheart Keep up the potting too!

  • Hi everyone :hello:

I've been potting away faithfully.. No idea how much is in the pig, but she's getting heavy so I think that's probably a good thing. Today I've potted a £20 note (first one!) as someone returned the money I had lent them unexpectedly. So before I can spend it, into the pot it went!

Happy Easter to those of you that are celebrating it xx
