I'm potting at least £1 a day now. Before starting this challenge I was buying porridge at work for 80p a day. I make my own own porridge now and its all being potted now. Hubby is helping and this evening he potted a pound that fell out of his trouser pockets.Sealed pot challenge #505 target £400

Whaa!
Everyone's potting already and I haven't had any cash or roadkill since the challenge started!
Might do a wallet raid on DH before he goes to work in the morning...0 -
Hi guys!
I'm new to the MSE forums and I'm loving all the ideas! Would very much like to join in with this years pot challenge, if possible! I won't set a goal, maybe next time - I'd like the first attempt to be a nice surprise :rotfl:
cybertortoise wrote: »Can I be added please? I will be on the look out for a free pot, but will be using a coffee jar for now. Thanks.
Of course you can both join us, Bex1989 and cybertortoise. A very warm welcome to you! It's lovely to have you with us. :grinheart Have fun saving and enjoy the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on the 2nd post of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We always empty our pots and declare our savings in November, please make a note of this year's date: 5th Nov.

*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.
A gold star for you, Modesty, you too, 32b3, and thanks to you both for the help with the quick and thorough welcomes. :staradmin:staradmin
So 32b3, did you have a good time in NY???!
Love to Oz, mummytummy, I suppose you'll soon be getting up now!
That's the best roadkill change anyone's had so far, Kerry, keep picking up if they want to drop it!!
Either way it's a win win situation either way, Daisychain, I get 6 NSDs ever week - yes truthfully!! Just look forward to the next time you can pot and be proud of what you've already saved! :jsunshine81 wrote: »There's always a downside to a NSD, Daisychain1! :-(
We had to withdraw cash from the ATM and spent 55p in order to get change for the hospital car park. We brought back £1.45 in coins, which I swiftly deposited in the pot :-) I'm not keeping strict track but I'm sure I've potted £7ish since we started which would put me on track for my target. Early days though!
I'm sure that's the way most of us do it, sunshine; such a darned shame about the money it costs for hospital parking - but I guess we'll never change it, annoying though. Well done with what you saved!
....and another one in the pot, Chutney, a good'n!Thanks Sue you're right it's not easy for me seeing another child fly the nest but I'm excited for him, wish I had been that sensible at the of 21 lol
I went to lunch with a couple of friends today and one of them insisted on paying so the £5 I saved went in the pot instead, my first note! :j
Don't we all, [Deleted User], still you're doing your very best for him which is lovely! Well done in potting that £5er, that's the way to save and save well!!! :dance:rainbowgirl1 wrote:I'm potting at least £1 a day now. A darned good way to save money, rainbowgirl, anything like that will net you a LOT over the course of a year!!! :j
You're not alone, Dizzy Imp, no roadkill for me either, in fact there aren't that many who have come across any; don't know what it is with folk these days...too tight to drop it!!!Plan ways to make savings and pot the difference.
Here, I hope you're not expecting me to condone you in your "wallet raid on DH before he goes to work in the morning" GO FOR IT Dizzy!!!!!!!! :dance:Be very careful of the wind tomorrow, Potters, and keep up the potting! :dance:Sue xx
NB SPC Savers: For 2016 - 3rd November will be the new opening date! Don't forget your diaries digital or otherwise.

Oh DH is happy again, Xbox one (mark two) was picked up today after Mr T couriered over a replacement for his one, so he's happily shooting things again . . . But on the downside I've been fleeced again by the drain on my pocket who is my DS who got me to buy HIM an Xbox one as well  he is paying me back out of his paper round money . . . . Will only take him 21 months :rotfl:. Told him that will just slot in nicely with the end of his exams and that it belongs to me until the very last payment is made
. He has to hand me the controller every night at 10pm and gets it back next day after homework is done
.
Thinking I might as well just pot his repayments each month as I don't really need them (it's more about teaching him to pay his debts as he's not the most money savvy by a long shot)!
I chucked a bit of change in the tin and an accumulating a pile of £2 coins as still waiting for DH to make my tamper proof tin grr. Anyway it's way past my bedtime so I'm off to sleep . . . That is if DH will stop watching Xbox one YouTube videos next to me :mad:SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
