Evening all, potted £1 coin into my £1 pot and 2 50p's into their pot today. Potted a couple of £2 coins and some 20p's also this week so all in all a good week so far. Going Christmas shopping with my mum and dad at the weekend (with the proceeds of spc 8) so looking forward to that :)

    Happy potting everyone xx

Ooooo, I so want to go back to New York!! So very jealous right now! DH said 'im not sure if I want to go back, it wasn't that great . . . ' umm, did you not go on the same trip as me?!?! and we barely saw anything! plus he really needs to understand that 'I' want to go back and a happy wife means a happy life :D

Dragged him to our local garden centre today and pointed out all the new decorations I want, plus they have a new addition to the musical christmas display (The nutcracker!) which I NEED to add to my collection, though they rather unhelpfully did not have any on the shelves :( hoping they will have some in when they do the half price pre christmas sale ;). BUT I cannot buy any decorations for a few weeks as my lovely mum is taking me to a christmas market :j :j over 300 stalls of lovely christmassy decs, toys and foody bits :D DH has been warned that I shall be alleviating the bank of money to finance *hopefully* some lovely handmade decs for my tree :D

Well, I haven't spent any money today so I haven't got anything for my poor little tin :( but have got an appointment tomorrow so have told DH he has to take me out to dinner afterwards so should be some pennies after that :D

  • Nothing in the tin for me today as I had a NSD with my 10 month old niece. PJ's and Disney films for us 2 haha..

Hoping to get some change tomorrow but won't be able to update until Saturday as I am spending my Friday night looking after my 12 year old cousin.

Well done everyone who has been potting :)
  • It's been an exciting two days, I got accepted into the uni I wanted and finally learnt to ride a motorbike :) also the crazy puppy can now go for walks (he was starting to get very bouncy). On a potting not I managed to save 5.00 this week.
    Number 495 :)

Sadly it's enforced, Saver-upper, we live in the country so we do it all in one go to save money. On the upside though, I wangle a more or less set amount to pot each week due to this - well one has to be crafty as well as shrewd! ;)

oohh,I can relate to that,Sue.When I was growing up (in Oz),we were nearly 20 miles from the nearest town (the area I lived had a population of 12,and 5 of those were my family .) My mum only went "into town" once a week, sometimes only once a fortnight. And being in the days pre-internet,she must have been another queen of NSDs :rotfl:.

Potting-wise,when I get off this very deep, comfortable sofa,I will be potting £4.88,the change from buying ingredients for tea tonight.(The time is coming where we will need to move to inlaws' so building works can continue,so I am trying not to buy big shop-ups: just buying what we need as we go,running down some ingredients/items and not replacing them).

Of course you can join us, 12 month challenge and TheMillions. A very warm welcome to you. :grinheart Have fun saving, posting and enjoying the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on the 2nd post of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We empty our pots and declare our savings in November, please make a note of this year's date: 5th Nov.

Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away. ;)

*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.

Thanks for adding me to the challenge - Number 524 - I will wear the number with moneysaving pride!!

It's good to hear you say that, threellamas, in which case could you kindly pop your No on your signature for me? That way you'll be doing exactly as you said ;)

Don't you believe it, Modesty. Well done with the £2s!

Crikey, good for you, !!!!!!, I'm certainly nowhere near finished! :(

Good luck with the matching £s v Nos, Ruth...thoughts of matching £52 will never happen here for sure!

Bless you for that wonderful star and the lovely thoughts behind it, Frogletina, I most certainly appreciate it.

Thank you for keeping the challenge running - I don't post much but I do try keep to my little plan of parking savings.
I go to an office twice a week where I have to pay for parking and each time I do I put the equivalent in my SPC account.
I don't save change because I need it for the parking meter!

    Cheers everyone!

Its good to see you again, bossymoo, anytime you can pop in it'll be good to say hello. I see your point about the CP costs (wicked ) and if that's your way of saving - good for you! By the way, going by what you've declared today that means it's cost you £500 this year for parking alone!!!!! It really makes you think!
