Morning Everyone.....
I'm sorry to not have been around for a little while....Been feeling a bit down, particularly yesterday....although I'm trying very hard to count my blessings and stay positive....
Also, my Grandad is in Hospital....He's okay but I'm worried about him, even though it's nothing life threatening.....It's a problem with his back and means that his Mobility is going to be a problem in the future.....It's so awful as he's always been such an active man...
Anyway.....So that's what has been going on in my World....
On the Plus Side.....I've not had to break into my Pot so I'm pleased....Money is doing MUCH better and I'm managing to Pay off my Debts AND save a little too....so I'm pleased with that...
I managed to Pot 50p and a few pennies yesterday...Every little helps after all....
*Hugs* to all those that want or need them....Hope to Chat to you all later xXx0 -

Morning All!
Still potting away, small amounts only though as I am making every penny count this month, because I am having to pay out for solicitors and surveyors and mortgage advisors and, and, and, and... but it will be worth it to be able to save £500 per month on a mortgage instead of renting.
Hugs to Helen, hope grandad is feeling better soon.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

A very Good afternoon all SPCers! :grinheart I hope the day is a good one for all, but if not then keep focused for the weekend's arrival...only hours away now!!!!! Keep safe and well everyone.
For all those of you who are poorly or a little low for whatever reason, I hope you soon feel so very much better. Here are some {{{hugs}}} to help you through.
How about trying to budget better, 166million? Either that or do as some members do which is to take X amount from your bank/BS per week or per month and use it purely for potting? It's amazing how it can help.Just wanted to wish your daughter a belated Happy Birthday Sue-UU xxxx
Louise xx
Thank you so much, Louise, we much appreciate your wishes. She's been quite poorly of late (MS) so it's a joy to treat her as well as her DD. :kisses3: What some beautiful words to Carbootcrazy too, I know they'll make a huge difference to her and it's all so true.
Oh dear, 32b3, doesn't it hurt to have to give so much away for meals!! Still, at least you still saved some!Haven't been here in a while! Still been potting though£4.70 today!
Good to see you again, Evo, and lovely to know you're still saving so well. 'Stick' to it...and yes, pun intended!! :rotfl:
Kerching indeed, sunshine, great potting! :j
That's just excellent saving, mrs-moneypenny!!!!! Looks like you're out to get as much as possible by November!
Brilliant work, TheCatsandDogsMother!!!!! :j It's far better to pot it than waste it!
I'm so sorry to hear about your Granddad, Helen, it's a difficult time for you all I know, especially for him, but try to be thankful that he was able to have had such an active life until then, a great deal to be said for that!! I hope he's soon allowed out.
Well done with coping with your times - there's always someone (or thousands!) who are a lot worse off..alone too!!
Keep up the potting - and keeping it there!
It sounds as though you're doing so very well, f0xh0les, and little amounts saved are a whole lot better than none!! :j Keep it going and well done with the mortgage!
You must previously have spent a fortune on Toiletries, Val, still, good job I guess or you wouldn't be making the savings you are as a result of nOT doing so now!!! :TA really BRILLIANT WEEKEND all, SPCers, a great, stay safe, healthy - and potting!!

Just done my Friday penny savings challenge potting for the week, and included an extra couple of days for the November/December days. Finding £3 in the bedroom helped boost this week to £20
Happy that I'm getting well through the higher amounts.
Also got £32.44 paid into the bank from fuel expenses for going to court to give evidence so I have transferred £32.50 across to my credit card as it only actually cost me about £15 in fuel and parking that day I think! No longer ...tobe! Yes, we're like you jakes-mum, all one finance pot in our house too (although he'd say it's all mine!):rotfl: Joint accounts for everything, makes life much easier - although I do worry that if anything ever happened to me, he'd be totally lost
I have exactly the same worry with DH, every time bills come through the door, the hand goes up and he's all 'i'm not getting involved!' I do insist that he sits down with me every 6 months and I explain (many many MANY times over) what bills we have, how much goes out the bank and how much we have left over each month . . . does my head in but I figure at least this way he might have a vague idea who to ring if I popped my cloggs tomorrow . . (probably my mum knowing him!)
I keep meaning to write the 'just incase' letter, which will list every company we have finance with and their phone numbers along with all the companies he would have to contact because i'm gone, and then in big letters at the bottom it would state RENEW YOUR LIFE INSURANCE AND WILL, YOU NOW DON'T HAVE EITHER!! probably followed by 'do it! you don't want me to come back and haunt your a*s' :rotfl:carbootcrazy wrote: »Thanks for that, jakes-mum and siju:T OH and I have had totally separate financial arrangements for about 40 years, which has suited us both. He is a total miser (should I say skinflint?;)) and has amassed money in all sorts of savings and investment accounts. It doesn't bring him any pleasure though, he refuses to spend a solitary penny more than is absolutely essential. All my debts are totally mine, that's why it's a struggle to pay them off on my own. We each have responsibility for the various household bills but since the mortgage was paid off years ago (and was one of his responsibilities) I think he's got the better deal now:(. We split bills 50/50 originally and have had some minor adjustment since we installed oil central heating (rural area, no mains gas:()
He has an unpredictable temper though so I'm too much of a wimp to renegotiate terms:o. In his favour, he doesn't have a clue that I have debts and I really can't tell him. He just thinks I've learned 'good' habits from him over the years to be as mean and penny-pinching as him;) as I never buy anything unless essential either. He doesn't know I have no choice:o
Oh bless you carbootcrazy, i'm a fair bit of a miser I have to admit but i'd never ever want my DH to feel like he couldn't tell me he'd got into debtI do have more savings than him but he knows i'd give him every penny if he needed it, we're a team, his problems are my problems. Makes me very
that you don't feel supported (is that the right word i'm looking for?)
Well if you need a debt free buddy, you can always talk to me, i've certainly felt the debt noose and paid of over £7k in 13 months just over 2 years ago after carrying it around for over 10 years. And obviously you can tell us on here about your debt paying accomplishments! We will all cheer you on to getting rid of that Debt weight!I'm thinking "I do envy you those cakes", jakes-mum, but I understand what a struggle it is for you to gain weight, so I'll envy you quietly - and go without! :rotfl: Enjoy them.
Loool, don't worry, i'm sat right here with you in envy corner! It was a coffee cake and I HATE coffee! :rotfl: DD and DH absolutely love it though and I rarely make one so that was the first. I'm now in trouble with DS as I didn't get round to his cake so he's very displeased with me  so next cake will be gluten free raspberry sponge which I doubt i'll get a slice of either as DS seems to inhale cake at the minute
Right potting news! well I went to Waitr0se and bought some potatoes today, took them home and half of them were full of deep bruised cuts! took them straight back and asked for a new bag, took me 5 minutes to find a bag that wasn't full of bruised, cut potatoes, told the young lad when I took my bag back to customer services and he swapped the bags and refunded my money :T so £2.14 in the pot (plus he gave me a £2 coin so he's definitely my new best friend)SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
