Thanks for that, jakes-mum and siju:T OH and I have had totally separate financial arrangements for about 40 years, which has suited us both. He is a total miser (should I say skinflint?;)) and has amassed money in all sorts of savings and investment accounts. It doesn't bring him any pleasure though, he refuses to spend a solitary penny more than is absolutely essential. All my debts are totally mine, that's why it's a struggle to pay them off on my own. We each have responsibility for the various household bills but since the mortgage was paid off years ago (and was one of his responsibilities) I think he's got the better deal now:(. We split bills 50/50 originally and have had some minor adjustment since we installed oil central heating (rural area, no mains gas:()
He has an unpredictable temper though so I'm too much of a wimp to renegotiate terms:o. In his favour, he doesn't have a clue that I have debts and I really can't tell him. He just thinks I've learned 'good' habits from him over the years to be as mean and penny-pinching as him;) as I never buy anything unless essential either. He doesn't know I have no choice:o0 -
Finally, more cash to pot.... £3.83.0

Good afternoon Super SP Savers! :grinheart Sorry not to have been here since Monday, far too busy a time though, and yesterday was DD's Birthday so we were out for lunch and shopping for wedding clothese ready for 5 weeks time!!!!! Keep well everyone.
For all those of you who are poorly or perhaps a little low for any reason, I hope you soon feel so very much better. Here are some {{{hugs}}} to help you through.plumduff55 wrote: »Hi everyone, I potted £12 pound and some change on Friday. This was the money in my purse when I withdrew my pocket money for the following month.
Happy with my potting so far as it's less than a month since I joined and I think I have £20 - £25 so far.
Don't you get feeling like an idiot at all, plumduff, that sort of thing happens to us all, or at least it happens to me! That's life, but at least you figured it out for yourself! You're doing marvelously with your saving (brilliant sums) - see, you didn't make mistakes there!!! :j
Thanks a lot, 32b3, you too. Mine will be a bit skimped until the weeding's over, but whenever I'm able to I will!12_month_challenge wrote: »Have potted 2 x £2 coins. My DS had saved them for me
oooooh you lucky, lucky girl, 12 month challenge, it's great when our menfolk are involved.-Selene wrote:Potted a 5p roadkill that I found inside my freezer  Also potted £8.56 that was change from a note (if I hadn't potted it, I'd have frittered it away so much safer in the pot imo) :A
In my opinion too, Selene! You're doing excellently potting with that sentence in mind, so keep it up!!muppets wrote:OH found €42 in the public area in work today and anything over €1 we split between us. I have potted my €21 before I had time to spend it. :j
Crikey muppets!!! That's a heck of a lot to FIND, I sincerely hope you make the effort to see if anyone has lost such large amounts! Please do as they are your work mates and may well be hard up!
Good saving, NeedToBeDebtFree, and well spotted with that 1p!!Enjoy your shop-a-thon tomorrow - you'll need lots of coffee and cakes to sustain you all :T
Oooh 8 am wake up is lovelywhen my mother stayed with us over the Christmas holidays and we got up at 8, she would say "good afternoon"!!!!! What a holiday  not even allowed a little lay-in........ She nearly had a seizure over my student son who happily lays in bed all morning!
Anyway, £4.05 to add to my little pot tonight :rotfl: The sun is finally shining and the world looks good
Thanks siju, we had a splendid time, but not much of it eating cakes and coffee.Still, we did make room for a hasty lunch, but with 4 of us women/girls it was a lot of....spend, spend, spend!!!!! I got a beautiful jacket, shoes and bag, all go perfectly with my dress!! :happylove
Just jumping in while I've got t'internet working. Not at all happy with V*rgin, twice they've promised an engineer and both times they've cancelled him without informing me.
Anyway, I've been potting quite a lot lately, including a few £2 coins.
Celebrated DH's birthday yesterday at a new to us pub. Had a lovely time mostly because he's still here to celebrate after what happened last year.
I'm delighted you celebrated your DH's Birthday so well, Modesty, after all he went through last year you all deserved that. A belated Birthday to him from me please.
I hope you soon get some joy with V!rgin, what an awful way to do business.
Birthday wishes for your Dad too, mumof3plusoh, your DD for next week too. Don't forget that the idea of losing weight is - not to gain it instead!! :rotfl: A busy time ahead for your DS too.
I'm so glad the sound of cash in your pot is changing, Dizzy Imp, it's really satisfying! :j
That was a crafty move of Vax, MrsC....tobe, do they know we women have wills but don't....always use them! :rotfl:carbootcrazy wrote: »Not sure how so many of you manage to relieve your nearest and dearest of money that they leave lying around. Would never attempt that myself, OH knows the whereabouts of every single penny of his money even if it might appear to be just forgotten about. He would consider it to be stealing from him:eek:. I'm deadly serious:(
I did put my weekly £2 coin into my separate piggy but that's all for this week. Still, every little helps as they say;).
So sorry to hear about your DH, carbootcrazy, we don't know what made him as he is though, maybe it was his parents when he was groing up. Whatever, you should be so proud at how well you're saving, even if you don't save too much at times, at least you do SAVE!!! Will you tell hime in November??
Brilliant work with that £10er, mrs-moneypenny!!!! :j
Very well done, Cath!
I'm thinking "I do envy you those cakes", jakes-mum, but I understand what a struggle it is for you to gain weight, so I'll envy you quietly - and go without! :rotfl: Enjoy them.
Well done, lexbubbles, and have a lovely time away.
I see your point, TheCatsandDogsMother, especially with you being a student. Good luck in keeping that $50!
Good potting, sunshine, you're really saving well.:DHave a lovely evening, SPCers, a great Friday too...and stay safe and healthy - and potting!!
