just dropping in to say that I have concluded that this is the friendliest thread of all
a thought that just came to me after doing some browsing these last few days.
anyhoo.. £1 in the pot today.. i'm only putting £1, £2 and 50p's in my pot.. i have another little money box where I put 20's, 10's and 5ps. I decided to open that money box today and took the change to the bank to be cashed in as I was passing, it was a nice £20.. I would never of thought it! the money box is only small.. but instead of using it I made sure it went in the savings
although separate from the pot it made me realise that the little coins do add up quickly too!
cattysmum, hope the month of feb and the many others go better for you!
muppets, hehe it's nice to find coins to pot, especially when they are surprise coins
evertheoptimist - nice username! i'm also having to review my spending habits, here's to a good few months of savings ahead.. i'm sure things will work out.. when in doubt, remember your username!
thecatsanddogsmother - the puppy has been busy! hopefully all ok, can see why you're considering a puppy pot!
happy potting all !0 -

C. Leave some as he's no idea what's there?!
I would have gone for
Pot the lot and deny all knowledge of said money when asked where it was!
DH is so used to me nicking his change now, if my pocket is jingling he just rolls his eyes and says 'thats my change for the pot then is it?' and leaves me too it
glad your puppy is ok catsanddogsmother
Had a lovely £2 coin off DH last night from his pub run, had to laugh as his mate said 'ooo you've had a good night tonight, your round on happy hour, then your round again in the Legion (cheap beer in there
) and now a £2 coin!' DH went 'pfft, why would I be happy about a £2 coin, I only have to give it to the wife when I get home, so these bl**dy things cost me a fortune!' :rotfl:
Bless him, he's well trained, he wont dare spend a £2 coin
Right its food shopping day and I haven't even made my shopping list yet
