January has been a strange month but i cant complain. Today i potted £160. Made up of £50 a friend repaid which i had given up hope of ever getting.A contribution of £50 by DS1(hes on 0 hours contract)but likes to chip in when he can so i can never count it in budgets as he can sometimes go months without a wage. £30 from the cheap energy club cashback and £30 cashback from Topc4shback for Xmas presents i ordered in December. Roll on February

HEllo.. I was just wandering whether or not its too late to join?? i have only just joined the forum and this sounds like a great idea :)

Of course you can join us
, tinkerbell89. A very warm welcome to you both! It's lovely to have you with us. :grinheart Have fun saving and enjoy the banter when declaring your conquests! You'll find your number below this welcome message. Please read through the 1st post as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We always empty our pots and declare our savings in November, please make a note of this year's date: 3rd Nov.

Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away. ;)

*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.

tinkerbell89 - Please note your No is 127. Your new No, we know, will be much-loved by you, especially it was abandoned after it's old member failed to return. Still, if she changes her mind then she can always re-join and have another. :)

Many thanks, 32b3, a superb welcome as always and earns a gold star for you. :staradmin Great saving too.:D

Normally it's one gold star to the first welcomer on, mrs moneypenny, but as you're fairly new I'll make an exception and give you one also, after all it was just right! :staradmin Thank you and good saving for you too. :D

Afternoon all Potters! I hope you've had a really lovely day (unless you're in Scotland, poor devils!) and enjoyed the sun, DH & I did until a neighbour lit a ruddy bonfire!!!!!!! To all those of you who are poorly or perhaps a little low for whatever reason, I hope you soon feel so very much better. Here are some {{{hugs}}} to help you through. :grinheart

I have been potting away silently, and despite it being 08:20, I already have £1.50 destined for the pot later on today! I guess I hadn't worn this jacket in a while !

Ah..it's so good to see you, Mendry! Well done with the potting and...keep checking here there and everywhere!! :D
I'm getting rather annoyed with my sealed pot challenge - we decided to put all 50ps into the pot for the year, without realising that we never get any bl*@dy 50p coins! Weirdly, we've only had 3 of them between us since Jan 1st  So we're changing to 20ps from now on. Let's see how it goes...

I have to agree with Ruth, Debbie, why not pot both 50ps and 20ps? If you don't come by many 50ps then you won't exactly struggle to save both of them, so go on, give it a go!

Great minds eh, Ruth! ;) I hope that bag of coins of yours is potted by now?! Sounds a fair amount so pot, pot, pot!! :rotfl:

Trying so hard to pot regularly this year. Reading all your posts really encourages me along. Thanks everyone :)

Oh dear poor you, siju, I saw you were destined for wet weather too, you've had your share this winter 'n all! Maybe things will change for you - I do hope so. :D It's wonderful to read both the highlighted sentences of yours above!!!! :j

Found 5p on the floor in the car park on my way into work today, so will add that to the pot later. Every little helps! :D

Very true, Abbe! Keep those eyes peeled, but be sure to look where you're going!! :j

    Excellent saving, Pennydreams!!! :D

I have put a few coins in my pots.
    I'm so rubbish at this

So long as you're potting, 166million, then you're saving and NOT rubbish! :naughty: Pot as much as you can when you can. It's not a race and there's never a winner - or a loser. You've quit one particular good thing in your life which was brilliant, but you just never quit saving!!!!! :j

You're doing really well, Curly! You're not the only one on here who makes Birthday/Christmas cards, keep it up and pot what you make!
£3 Potted today. Savings again from not buying lunch at work

I actually feel guilty if my pot doesn't get fed :D:)

Well done everyone on the amazing potting going on and the amazing support for everyone :T

VERY well done, 12 month challenge, as it's a wonderful way to save!! You feel as guilty as you like as it's all to your benefit! ;)

I'm pleased your throat is feeling better, Westie, but as you say, no doubt the eye pain and headache are all part and parcel of the same thing. Look after yourself.

It's lovely to see you dropping in, Rasp, saving so well too!! Isn't it so satisfying when clunk changes to chink!!!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your little treasure, Louise, it's so horrible when they feel so rotten and you feel so helpless. :( I really hope he's soon much better and bouncing about again. Good saving btw. <<"A month of the challenge is nearly over???">> Far more than that as it started on the 6th November! Unless you mean you personally?

I really do hope you're able to get momentum going again, sunshine, go on - you CAN DO ITt!!!!!! :j

A good idea to keep it as a surprise, themstarrynights, that way you too can keep the momentum going more easily! ;)

An excellent sum, Karona!!! Well done to your friend and especially to your DS!!!! :T

A steady sum to be really pleased with, Dragon Lily!! All the best in budgeting well and saving better through 2016!!!! :j

Have a good Friday, Potters. :grinheart ...just don't forget those pots need to tinkle....or something like that!! ;)

Last year was a difficult year family wise and the start of this year no better, what's that saying, "what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger" well I must have the strength of Wonder Woman lol! (showing my age there)

  • Morning everyone.

Well just a lonely £1 potted since my return. However I need to review my spending habits and my system for budgetting etc, for two reasons.

I have recently decided that i want to take a years maternity instead of the 9 months i had planned. So that means I need to find more pennies as some of the extra time is unpaid, secondly my mot has just cost £500 which is half what the car is currently worth, however the car is valuable to me at the mo and i/ we can't afford to replace It yet. So i need to work out how to pay for that too.

    Hope everyone's well. xx
