To add to modesty's lovely welcome, there is no 'only' if you manage to save £20 over the entire year but that £20 is more than you would normally save then you've done fantastically!!!!

The saving is the important part, not how much you've saved. £200 is a great target to have. Make sure you keep popping in and letting us know what you've potted. It will give you great encouragement and it won't be long before you're as addicted as the rest of us!!!

We are a wonderfully supportave bunch of ladies (with a fantastic spattering of men). Pot as often as you can and let us know when you do. If you find roadkill (money on the street, in supermarkets etc) then it's the law, you have to come tell us so we can all get excited too :D

    Enjoy your first potting year

Thanks for the welcome ladies! My dear friend but me a nice terramundi pot so I thought it was about time I should join! So far all I have potted is 60p! This was to stop me spending it on a can of coke from the vending machine at work though so its a good start!

Most certainly you can join us, suz_87! A very warm welcome to you. :grinheart Have fun saving, posting and enjoying the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on the 3rd post of page 1. Please read through the FIRST post as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We empty our pots and declare our savings in November, please make a note of this year's date: 3rd Nov.

Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away. ;)

*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.

suz_87 - please take not of what crimson.addict (Ruth) has told you - there's no "only" about putting a Target of £200!! Achieve that and you'll be doing wonderfully, get less and it'll still be great and far better saved than possibly wasted!!!!! :DBTW. 60p is good and a whole lot better than none! There's a special piece on the 1st post about how to deal with Terramundi pots at the end of the year.

Many thanks again, Modesty, it's a great help for folk to be welcomed on so quickly, especially when I'm either on SPC 8 or otherwise engaged. A gold star to you, well deserved. :staradmin

I hope all SPCers are having a lovely day, or as good as possible if you're working. {{{Hugs}} to all those in need of them, I hope you soon don't! ;)

    Hi All
Need to get to b&m for my new tin. I am determined to try much harder this year. Slightly disappointed with my efforts this year but any saving is better than none!

Must also try to get on this site more too.
    C u all around x

It's good to hear you being more determined, fingersxed, though I honestly thought you'd done very well; but you're obviously looking for more and coming to the thread more often will certainly help motivate you. Have a look at the 1st post as I especially put a piece on for folk needing certain amounts, go for it! :D

Good savings, Westie! I'm not entirely sure what you mean about the bagged money...do you want to add more to your Total? If so, please pop it on SPC 8. Thanks.

Excellent work with the £5er, Helen! Whisk it out of the way before you get chance to change your mind!! ;) It's so good to hear how happy you're feeling and all's well after yesterday. :j

Well spoken, Ruth! Not sure about this law re roadkill, but...not a bad idea!! ;)

Ahhh, your post sounded quite poignant, Emilou87, as I'd imagine your friend has passed away. He'd have been proud to have a special, thoughtful friend like you. Well saved too.

Absolutely no need to re-join, grassgirl, everyone's welcome to simply continue on. I've updated your Target, all the best in achieving it.

DH found a lonely pound in a kitchen drawer last night. As he made to slip it into his trouser pocket, I shouted "in the pot!" I think I gave him a bit of a fright.....

Poor little pot, seems so very light now

Never mind, I'm going to try so hard this year

  • Back from my cemetery visit and after buying flowers, a bottle of water and some chips (for the walk home) I have managed to pot £9.40 which included a £5 note.

Really going to work hard on saving this year.. :j
