  • £1.20 in shrapnel potted today, and £2 coin yesterday. I'm training my DD in the art of potting; she was amazed at my total last year, and is really motivated to beat it this year, so any change from her lunch money goes into the pot :D

    Hope everyone is ok?

Oh wow! Are they both for $2 coins? I'm not sure if I should put notes in mine or change them into coins. I'm still getting use to the size of the thing! Although it's sooo pretty :p

I'm going to now add a target of £100.

I'm currently on £25 and some not yet full bags, though I won some of that and don't make a habit of gambling so I don't think the pace will continue.

I did put £2.90 in last night as past of my other MSN challenge. Thankfully I do have my holding jar as my daughter has managed to lose her bus pass so had to shell out change for bus fares. Ah!
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

    Well done all you potters:beer:

Have either had NSDs or paid for things by Debit Card so no change to pot for what seems ages:o

But, as part of my SP challenge which is just for small-value shrapnel I'm going to stick with my aim to also save 1x £2 coin every week. That's very small beer compared to the rest of you but it feels mega to me:rotfl:. I now have £4 in my china piggy bank:j which is separate from my sealed plastic shrapnel bucket ;). The £2s can only be retrieved with the knife and shake trick but here's hoping I'll be strong enough to resist if things get tough when it's been well-fed.

It doesn't matter how big or small the amount is at the end of the challenge, as long as you've saved to the best of your ability and the money is there when you need it. That's all that is asked of you :)

I really need to take a photo of the pot i am using, it's ridiculous lol. I have just about managed to cover the bottom of it so far. OH gave me £1 to add to it yesterday so i'll pot that along with any change I get tonight. I don't think i like having my total a surprise......

Hi themstarrynights, Sue had a major overhaul of the numbers last year as we had a list of over 2K members but only 2-300 were actually participating so you'll definitely need a new number but she'll pop in at some point and give you a nice new (and much lower!) shiny number for your siggie :D

Just had a look me dearie and you are still on the list as number 332 so you probably fell off the SP wagon just as Sue changed the numbers :D So if you could change your number to the new one that would be fabalicious <--- new favourite word of the day! . . The world would be so much more interesting if I made word of the day toilet paper

    P.S Welcome back! :D

Thanks! haha love the new word of the day, and yes it had been a while :P but i've got the saving bug this time.. i'm definitely here to stay.. will be more active on here so thanks for the welcome :) now i'll go and find my new number if it's been mentioned already :P

Can I ask if you pot your change at the end of each day or, say, at the end of each week? Thank you :)

I pot whenever I have a purse full of change, i'll try to make it lighter or whatever I find. Also say I really wanted to buy a chocolate at work, i'd pot what I would of spent on the expensive vending machine at work back into the pot. Don't mind as much that way :P
