Could I get a number please? I've cancelled my Park Xmas Savings as I want to do most of my shopping locally for next Christmas or via small online business so want to save cash rather than towards vouchers. I'll save a regular amount at the beginning of the month plus any silver / gold coins I lay my hands on to give it a boost!
Thanks!
Aha...and just where have you been, Nicki_Sue!!
You're already an SPC member and your No is 072!! So, NO, you can't have a no, other than the one you already have which ISN'T on your siggie - YET!!! So, a very warm welcome home to you and please remind yourself of the rules and regs on Page 1 and.....get saving quickly!!!!!
PS. We empty our pots and declare our savings in November, please make a note of this year's date: 3rd Nov.
*Please pop your number on your sigs, it really helps me.
MrsShazbat wrote:Well that's embarrassing, I've got my 6-year membership award (really???) and rarely visit these days!!
Hi everyone
Please can I be added to this challenge I've got my sealed pot at the ready ☺
A very warm welcome to you, MrsShazbat, Meliemops and Sylar321, it's lovely to have you with us.Enjoy yourselves saving and posting and be sure to join in the banter with us as you declare your conquests! You'll find your numbers below this welcome message. Please read through the 1st Post as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We empty our pots and declare our savings in November, please make a note of this year's date: 3rd Nov.
Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away.
*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.
MrsShazbat - Please note that your new No is 066. Sadly, the previous owner has not returned, but if she does she's welcome to re-join and have a new No. By golly, last year was very turblent for you! I bet you're glad it's long gone. Hospitals charge scandalous parking costs, disgraceful, but what great colleagues you have!! You can add any other MSE challenge totals to your SPC one in November.
Meliemops - Please note that your new No is 068. The previous owner didn't return, but if she does she's welcome to re-join and be given a new one.
Sylar321 - Please note that your new No is 069. The previous owner didn't return, however, if she decides to she's welcome to re-join and be given a new one.
A gold star for you, Lynne, :staradmin you too, 12 month challenge, and thanks for the help both. :staradmin Good saving as well I see, though whatever is the matter with your DH!!!
What some absolutely atrocious weather, Potters!!!!! IF any of you are in any of the really awful areas, take great care and remember that.......risks are never worth taking!!!!
Here are some {{{hugs}}} for you all, for any of our poorly members too.Frugalgurl wrote: »Thank you Sue-UU! I've really thrown myself back into sorting my finances out as am doing 5 challenges.
Got two nice shiny pots form pound land and my daughter helped pot the £2 loose change I had from my purse today so I'm now on £17.01! Get in! Daughter is hopefully going to enjoy saving with me. She certainly enjoyed putting the coins in the tin and shaking them. She's five! And both tins don't open!
Got the second tin for the Xmas £1 a day challenge :T
Very well done indeed, Frugalgurl, and don't forget that any savings you make on all MSE challenges can be added to your SPC declaration next November! It's so good to hear you're involving your Daughter as hopefully, she will grow up using savings as part of her life!! :A
It will be a very good start to the challenge for you, NannyG, a far better idea to keep the Total a surprise too!
abbe89 wrote:I have decided to tie this in with my slimming world journey though, I'd lost about 16lbs but that's gone out the window with Christmas etc! From now on, for every lb I shift, £1 goes in my pot. When I hit a half stone marker or if I get slimmer of the week £2 goes in, and a stone mark £5 goes in. I've got a fair bit to shift so it should all add up!
A brilliant idea, abbe89!!! :j Here's hoping you meet all your goals and shift all you need to! Plenty of these :j:j too!
It's lovely to see you again, 166million, I'm soo pleased you stuck with us. Well done with the saved coins as well as the found one which you've rehoused!
Another great find, frasersmum, well done.
I'm so sorry to hear your news, Kerry, but as you say, at least they're being cared for. Wishing you a very safe, healthy and Happy (as is possible) New Year also.
12_month_challenge wrote:It is exactly a year today that I went from smoking cigarettes to Vaping.
Today I give up the vaping as well. Would have bought a new liquid today but have potted the money instead. :j
I am going to pot some of the money I save by not buying it from now on
The rest is going on my debt. It wont be a fortune but it all helps eh
That's just amazing, 12 month challenge!!!!!!! :T:j That took great courage, I KNOW, so be VERY proud of your achievement!!!! The amount saved is really good, but the gift of life you've given yourself as absolutely priceless!!!!! I couldn't be more chuffed for you.
It was 17 years on Christmas Day for me and the best thing I ever did!
Likewise for DH & I with our Labrador, Louise, though we had a short but cracking flash of lightening and right overhead thunder earlier and she didn't bat an eyelid - I did!!!!
I hope your savings will be so thrilling for you next November too!
A very safe, healthy and Happy New Year for you too, and thank you for your greetings.
You've done really well with it all, VAL, great work!!! :j

Behold my two pots. The bottle isn't sealed but it doesn't get touched; this is contributed to by both me and hubby and in all honesty will take years to fill (as the last one did). I usually empty my purse of loose change at the end of each week - bit difficult at the moment as I'm not at work and any spending has been done on my card. The tin is mine, mainly for my £2s but I usually put odd notes in (if I've made a withdrawal for a night out and there's any left over, and so on). I notice you can use Quidco and I do use that, so will endeavour to include it (or let it mount up untouched/unpaid). Not sure I'll be as efficient as others at posting how much I've potted but I'll do my best!SPCNo.19 #20 (18 £1752.64; 17 £562.86; 16 £678; 15 £1120.92; 14 £416.53; 13 £191.52; 12 £260.48; 11 £480.95; 10 £682.31; 9 £442.64)

The only potting I've done recently is the shrapnel left by DH on his bedside table.... again! You'd have thought he'd learn by now that money walks into sealed pots....

I thought I'd lost that number long ago Sue-UU as I signed up at the end of 2014 and erm, well yes. I'm back now though and very much on it so will add my 072 to the sig and claim my first cash save of £30 which I just popped in. Loose change for the rest of the month.MSE-ing since 20070 -
I bought myself a lovely "Frozen" money bank from the pound shop today. I didn't realise till I got home that you need a can opener to open it. That's exactly what I needed as I've saved coins before but always used them before Xmas.
I cashed my monthly "pocket money" out of the post office today. I retired in October so this is my third pension payment and I still can't believe I've actually retired. I keep thinking I'm going to waken up one morning and have to get ready for work 😳.
I emptied my purse of all money left from last month and it came to £12.26 which is now securely banked in my new tin. In future I will empty my purse each week.
