  • Hi Guys!

Jo-Great to see you back Hun...we have missed you!

Basically all packed for tomorrow morning. Leaving around half seven and going through London so we dont have to go round the M25:eek:    Have sorted out a meal plan and although its a 4 hour drive have managed to take quite alot of food with us. All we will need is fresh and fridge stuff really. Taking a coolbox for the car and will stop a few times with our new competition win picnic rug:D ....will make sarnies in the morning and a flask of coffee and take bottles of iced water. Also have some cake and biccies;)

Havent told DD yet, but we have purchased tickets for Longleat safari park. She has always wanted to go as she is mad on animals and we got such a good deal that we couldnt say no. Shes going to be so excited. OH is going to be knackered pushing me around in the wheelchair though:o Have also found a few other freebie places to visit and theres much to do around that area now that I ahve done some research. I have managed to squirrel away £150....but dont tell OH and I have another £75 for petrol and food/meals out.

The weather is supposed to be better this week so that will be great for all the kids still on holiday.

My friends DD passed all her GCSE with A* & A's, so friend is very chuffed. This secures her place for 6th form and another course she is doing in addition to her A levels:T

Anyway, I must go and make a drink and have a sarnie as my tummy is grumbling.

See you all next week. Have a great week guys.

Queenie-Are you OK? Havent seen you around in a while and hoping that all is well and kids alright.

    Hugs to all.

    PP

Hello everyone! I wonder if anyone remembers me? I see that alot of the old ones are still here, Taplady; Thriftlady; Pooky; Aussielass; Queenie and lots of others. There are alot of new (to me) ones as well.

A lot has happened with me but briefly got ill (again!) quit my job (mean boss!), got dd settled into another school and got myself another job. I am fine now but the job is only part time and I am finding it harder each month to keep out of the overdraft.

I have been perusing the OS forum again and it is lovely to see it is still the friendly and supportive place it was, so I just wanted to stick my head in and say 'hi'

    Evening,

Not done much as i had a lie in then popped out with my parents to the local DIY shop to look at stuff for my house and to finally get some fresh air - first time ive been out all week that wasnt to the docs... Scary as it made me realise just how much i have to finish in the house before baby arrives!

Got nice surprise last night, OH works on security at a large public building and there was a big function the night before, when all the lads went in yesterday morning the manager told them there were about 20 bouquets of flowers left over for them to take if they wanted for their Mrs's cos otherwise theyd just be binned!!! So ive got a spectacular designer display of flowers (complete with vase! :rotfl: ) for free!!!! :D :j

Also got a nice surprise when i got to my mums today.. my boots parenting club vouchers had arrived... MIRACLE performed by royal mail... as they were addressed to me... but the address went:

    My full name
35 *insert my mums street - which only goes up to no 14*
    Liverpool
    Liverpool
    *MY postcode here*

Seems the system didnt save my address changed properly as they had my house number and postcode at my current address.... but mums street... but royal mail still got it there without any "queries" or anything written on it. Must be cos our postie must have recognised my name as he knows us quite well. So hats off to royal mail!! :T :T :T

    Plans for this evening include:
    • Make spag bol for my tea
    • Work out a new budget as found out last week my temp contract was not being carried on so need to ring jobcentreplus on tue to see what i should be entitled to.. meant to do it this week but ive been too sick
    • Hunt fown my lead of my digicam.. lost it somewhere and need it to upload some pics of my garden to my computer and also to start ebaying again!
    • Sort through my paperwork as few things need posting back to various places
    • Make a meal plan for next week or two to minimize my shopping i need tomorrow at sainsburys.
    Have a nice evening everyone...

    Hi!

PenPen Those cakes are already a work of art!

Congratulations to those celebrating exam results!

Hugs to those feeling a little low or unwell.

Well the kitchen is still progressing, DH has just finished tiling and I might get my new cupboard doors on ...soon  .
We went to Halfords today to buy DD2 a new bike as she's too big for her old one. They were having a sale and we bought a girl's Apollo blue bike (8yrs+) for £69.99. She is only 6 but she's tall for her age and pretty active and has been riding it all day like an expert!
I went shopping in Home Bargains and bought DD2 a junior drum kit  . We bought her a toy one last xmas and she loves it and I reckon she's ready for the next stage. The girl next door is a really good drummer and plays in a band so this has been a huge influence on her. I'm going to put it in the loft and she can have it for xmas. It's just as well we are all such tolerant neighbours! Although we always make sure that instruments are only played at reasonable times (DD1 also plays the sax).

My monthly shopping budget has gone out of the window this month as we were
away for 3 weeks. I went to Tescos today and also on Wednesday and i also spent a few bob in Home Bargains. Once the kitchen is finished and the we're all back at school I'll get back on track with my £200 monthly budget and meal plans.
Lazy tea of pizza tonight. Have a good Friday!

Morning all! We're back from our holiday in Italy, it was 34 degrees there, couldn't believe it when we got off the plane in London, WHERE'S the summer gone???

Holiday was fine except that OH had his camera stolen :(, as he's a manic photographer that meant he lost all 300 or so pictures. Naturally it was my fault :o so it's a bit tense round here although he is having fun researching new cameras in the hope that the insurance pays out (I'm not hopeful, they seem reluctant to pay out for anything these days).

I came back with a HUGE bite on my calf and have just been to show my doctor who squeaked when she saw it and hastily prescribed lots of pills. It's very itchy and swollen, looks lovely ;)

Congratulations to those getting exam results today, and previously, you're all stars :T

Oh and Redruby yes you mix packet stuffing with hot water, it should give you instructions on the packet, just stuff it into the back end of the chicken and make sure you give it about 20 mins extra in the oven to ensure that it's cooked all the way through. Good luck.

Am feeling fit and healthy (apart from the leg :rotfl: ) after our holiday so it's been easy to get back into the swing of OSing (apart from the three solid hours of ironing I did yesterday, now THAT wasn't fun).

Today's menu: Toast and marmite for brekky
    Lunch: cashew and watercress pilau
Dinner: HM plum tomato and black olive pizza (as long as I make sure that I put the paddle into the BM properly. Made a 'quick' loaf on our return and ended up carving a hole in the bottom of a very strange looking loaf to try and retrieve the paddle which had come off in the process. :o )

Very grey and overcast here today so I'm staying in and doing some cooking.

    Have a good day everyone
    Mrs F x

Mrs F the chicken and stuffing was delicious, thanks for the tips, made the chicken go much further x

  • Watch out rant coming..................

We bought a Tom Tom GPS system in May, last week I went to put in my trip to Birmingham and it was not working, took it back to Halfords...........they leant me a very sinple one for my trip, today we went in to collect mine which has taken 4 days from Scotland by courier............... tried it in the shop, same fault........chap disappeared fro half an hour..........another 15 minutes and he returned with it working...............I have just switched it on to put in our trip to Canterbury guess what???????????????B****y thing has the same fault!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am almost frothing at the mouth.....another trip to Halfords tomorrow, I want my money back, it is obviously not fit for purpose............I paid for it with my credit card and it was almost £200, so if the shop will not co-operate I will be getting on to the CC company, as I understand that anything bought on a CC card over £100 they can do something about it...........................failing that watch out for fireworks over the Midlands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

    Tesco £57.13
    Petrol £10.00

Sitting here waiting for my feet to stop aching!

Took DD(13) to York to buy stuff for school - after six shoe shops we got a pair of shoes that she liked!

    Got pencil case she likes!

Even managed to get two pairs of school trousers and a bag that she likes!

Only thing we could not get was a simple navy skirt - she is tall and slim so the ones that are all right for lengh would fit around her twice and the ones that fit her waist are an indecent length due to her long legs.

Have tried BHS, Marks and Spencers and every other shop we could think of.

Will have to go and get DH a new electric razor as his has packed up -

    will go tomorrow morning.

Have not heard anything from the people who are interested in our house so getting a bit despondent.

I will be patient, I will be patient! LOL!

Those cakes looked beautiful - as good as in the very posh shops.

Enjoy your holiday. Your daughter will love seeing the animals.

    Hugs to all.
