Can you try a white pillowcase or somethign on your lap? You should be able to see the holes through the black fabric. And yes, the fabric will be why you can't see, not necessarily your eyes ( but still have them checked out!)
And in daylight will be easier.0 -
Well done the N9eave family on your exam success. Had the most awful nights sleep last night, was at a funeral yesterday and the shooting of Rhys Jones playing on my mind, spoke to sil she lives nearby to where it happened and the area is really respectable. Saw his parnets on the news and i can only begin to imagine what they are going through. I have a 12yo and 11yo old son's who love football, who play on the local green and at 7.30 on a summers evening would still be out, i can't think about it without my eyes filling up. Anyway work has asked me to do a few hour today so will go in for 9, my mum said she would look after my kids, then off to the dog behaviourist at 1.30 to sort my cheeky little dog out. Will do some washing and we've leftover spag bol for tea. The boys are going swimming with their friends today so will drop them off after. It's payday so i'm off now to work through the money, then wake boys up (dd been up since 6, recipe for a grouchy girls this aft) and have a shower. Bye for now SharronSometimes your the dog, and sometimes your the lampost..:p0

Morning All,
Congrats to all those with good exam results, especially the peeps who went back after several years. Good on you!
Didn't do much yesterday - but did go back to Homebase and get FOUR more sample pots! That brings choice of paints for landing and bedroom up to 11 or 12 ! BUT SUCCESS - well I think so anyway. The paint colour that didn't loook much different to the other paint colour on the card looks completely different when up.
So another trip to Homebase (10% day today and tomorrow) to get paint, coving for lounge (finish one job think about another) all in my overpacked car.
Back achy due to PP - and thats something I don't want for a car boot this weekendThis boot is jinxed.
Have a good one. How come so many people get so far ahead with food -it's only breakfast time for heavens sake!0 -
:hello: Good morning!
Congrats on the exam results! What a lot of clever kids there are! Puts my results to shame!
Very very excited here as today at about 4pm our new puppy arrives! :j I have spent the last few days moving clutter upstairs out of the way (I know I need to flylady:rolleyes:) and generally getting everything ready. Now I am going to go fuss Holly our cat as I feel quite guilty about how she will feel about it all. We did have Anna our lovely springer for many years up to about 3 years ago so she was used to it, but I think for a while she will be very stroppy with us all. I have missed having a dog around though.
I will make some Sugo (italian tomato sauce) in the slowcooker and have some pasta ready for an easy meal tonight. Lunch will be a salad, though in this weather a stew would be more in order.
(((Hugs))) to Mrs Mix's dd and anyone else who needs one
Catz x :j who is still excited!:DOur days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Hello everybody, :hello:
Been a bit slack here the last fortnight and haven't posted much. I've had a very good excuse though.A mini tornado called DGS who left today
.
We've had some really bad weather the last few days. 100klm winds & flooding. So far we've had 3 ft water. I even converted it for you. It's still pouring. Lost one tomato plant but everything else is holding up
to Twink.
OS & YS have left as well and it was nice seeing them. They liked my gifts .
DD has gone to visit friends for the weekend so DH & I are home alone.Happy Bithday & Anniversary to any I've missed & well done to all those who got great results in their studies.
Off to have a bit of a surf and catch up. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning everybody
Won't talk about my night mixture of terrible dreams and DD2 not being in til late so a bit anxious as she works in a local pub on a Thursday night!!!
Anyway new sunny day here and all is well. 5 working days to OH retirement !!:j
Congratulations and celebrations to all those with sparkly results and commiserations to all those who just slipped a bit.
Mrs Mix-- I do hope dd's op goes well and she is soon back to full strength.
Frogga- hope bbq goes well.
odds-n-sods- a 1 footed allotment digger should be interesting. Hope it gets better soon.
Well a quiet day here.
Made some more marrow chutney yesterday which is now all bottled and sitting on the side-yummy.
So we are off to a local soul "do " this evening I quite fancied taking a picnic but not very practical as it is near a load of pubs. And I am not very good at picnics - probably why OH and friends declined the idea.
So a walk with dd2 who is doing really well at WW- it is really hard for her as she is a manager of a pub so there is always temptation to pick.
Have a good day everyone especially those heading off on the Bank Holiday Weekend.
Hugs to all who are feelong poorly or a little sad and congratulations to all those celebrating a special day.0 -
