Thanks odds-n-sods,
I have done the same sort of party for BIL for his 50th, they are all builders and bikers, the salad just does not get eaten:rolleyes: , so i was not going to do any, just meat and lots of different breads with crisps and dips etc, jacket spuds would be a good idea, can you cook these on the bbq ? perhaps i could start them off in the microwave at hone and finish on bbq ? They are good meat eaters and I do not want to run out, perhaps I should get just a bit more
thanks again
xx
I think I'd be inclined to do a huge vat of chilli to go with it all - cheap and cheerful and filling with a jacket spud."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Hello everyone!
I was going to say 'Good Morning;, but now I see that there isn't much more of the morning left.... don't know where it vanished to, honest! Well I do.... my new medication and an addiction to a certain blog....eek!
Have wiped down the kitchen surfaces, have the DW and WM on, small bits hung to dry, will do the larger bits on the airer soon.
Need to get to the tip today, we are making progress on the spare room... I'm hoping that we get some painting done by Monday evening, but who knows! I'm off into the city to meet a couple of friends tomorrow, and we're visiting family on Sunday, so I'm hoping that OH gets some stuff done tomorrow instead of sitting on his XBox all day!
Welll done to all of those who had GCSE results yesterday
Hugs to those who need/want
Have a good day everyone!

Mean Marie Yes I am very glad about the rain but it could be a gentle pitter patter  and not the torrential horizontal type.
Not that I"m complaining of course.
I've just polished off a cup of milo and a chocolate brownie slice (from here) for supper and catching up with family & friends emails that were long overdue. I cheated and did a bit of cut and pasting.
Pen Pen The cakes looked lovely. Bet they took ages to do.
MrsF How could you possibly get someone to steal DH's camera?
Jo Good girl in getting the mole seen to. It's probably ok but better safe than sorry.
Goodnight. ByeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Maybe you should have gotten a hog roast! You can start the baked pots in a microwave or oven and finish them off on the BBQ, wrapped in foil if its charcoal and then in the ashes. On a gas one, on the rack.Or keep them hot in a cool box lined with bubblewrap and towels. Add in grated cheese, bacon, maybe beans, soured cream..... that will help fill them up. You could even, if you were being adventurous, heat a fry pan on the BBQ, and fry a few eggs, too, for the burgers and potatoes. Fried onions, as well - fry them at home, and just heat up in a foil tray on the BBQ. You could also SC/ slow roast a brisket of beef, slice it up and heat it in BBQ sauce to go in buns......
I want to come, now! LOL0 -
mrs_mix - Hope that your DD's op has gone well.
N9eav - Well done to your family on their results.
Penpen - DD's cakes look lovely!
Csarinaknight - You're not the only one who feels that way, I just can't understand what is going on. Watching Rhys' parents on the news was heartbreaking, poor poor people.
Good afternoon all,
I'm so so so tired today, not sure why as I slept well and dd didn't wake until 620 which is quite late for her! My h is working from home so i'm hoping for a sneaky laydown soon whilst they go off to the park for a while. This baby seems to have put on half a stone overnight, i'm so uncomfortable. Have done 2 loads of washing, 1 is out on the line but there is no sun and no wind so i don't think it will dry very well, goodness knows what will happen with the rest of it.
dd and I have been to the mobile library but thats about all so far.
Not sure what we'll have for meals, I'll just have to see whats left. dh is off to tesco's tonight as I just can't face it!
My Dad should be coming out tomorrow so good news there, will be glad to get him home, he seems to be doing really well.
Have a good day all!

Hello all!
Well Ive just got back from my gym induction:j so there!!! thats the first step - now ive just gotta make sure I go back again and again :rotfl:
now its time for lunch followed by a cuppa and slice of cake:o thats not very good is it!!!!:D
Its supposed to be nice today but its cloudy and damp, but ive put the washing out in hope of sunshine later!
Need to get things sorted out for our trip to Legoland (again!) tomorrow which should be better weather.
I went to library the other day and picked up one of those Jodi Picoult books "Keeping Faith" - I am such a sucker for getting hooked on this thread and not wanting to miss out!!!:rotfl: just hope I get round to reading it now as i'm not a very good reader!!
catznine - what puppy are you getting???
aussielass - phew - enjoy your "peace" time now!
penpenguin - Hope the wedding goes well! cakes look delish!
redruby - I usually just cook my stuffing in a separate dish, yes add water, quantities should be on the packet depending on the size. 250ml is usually for the small packets.
hillstep2000 - was just looking at a couple this morning living in their caravan, they say it will be 12 months before they get back in their homes! I just wondered what people who dont have caravans to live in are managing?? are they still living in the leisure centres etc? or are they in rented accommodation now?
mrs mix - good luck at the hospital
Congratulations to all those getting their exam results:T:T
have a good bank holiday all xx0 -
Shez I bought "Keeping Faith" when I went on holiday - bought it at the airport and I enjoyed it - took me a while to get going into it as not easy to read on the plane and airports etc.Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0
