What are you having for Christmas Dinner?

Whatever is cheap in the supermarket on Christmas Eve and will feed two people. It's been chicken, it used to be gammon when the offspring were here as they liked it, it was a tiny fist sized lump of beef last year.
Whatever it is, it's the other stuff that forms the majority of the meal - herb crusted roasties, mash, carrots, peas, sprouts, stuffing, parsnips, roast apples, that kind of thing. Plus lots of condiments - cranberry, mint, horseradish, mustard, bread sauce.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

TurkeyTurkey and all the traditional trimmings.
Not only is it a family tradition, everyone actually likes turkey! There are very few foods which fit that category.
As an aside, someone mentioned that turkey is 'dry'.
It can be. Especially if you try to calculate the cooking times on the morning of the 25th, after 3 hours sleep! Oops! I now work them out in the early evening of the 24th...
But I find that Delia's method, and the 'put the turkey breast down in the roasting tin' method (shared by some Americans friends) both produce a cooked turkey which is no drier than a well cooked chicken.0 -
Other (Have we missed something? Tell us below)We'll be having turkey, a ham and a beef joint. Goose will be cooked for fat day before so that will also be available on the table.

I will be having whatever is put in front of me.0

TurkeyWe'll be having turkey this year too - we were thinking of having goose but we found a local farm which raises turkeys so we decided to go local. We ordered it in mid-September - it the earliest I've ever ordered Christmas meat! But as the OP says, you need to order early unless you want to end up with one of the huge ones left over - that's especially true if you're buying from a small supplier.
Re turkey being dry: it can be if you don't cook it properly, and I find frozen birds are less forgiving and go dry much quicker. So I always calculate the cooking time as soon as we get the bird home, and then subtract a bit. When I cook it I set the timer for the too-short time and then start checking with a meat thermometer instead of relying on just timing.0 -
Sausages in bacon (not for me)
Instead of pigs in blankets I have Quorn in quilts(although I more often use Cauldron sausages)
It's easier if you use the deli bacon, rather than frozen, and if it doesn't want to stay stuck to the sausage I put a cocktail stick through to keep it in place while it cooks.0 -

That has to be the earliest Christmas turkey order I've heard of! Great to be organised and ahead already though isn't it? :TCould you do with a Money Makeover?

With loads of "trimmings".
A special meal at a time when the whole family gathers to both remember and rejoice, IMHO.
Can't help wondering why this wasn't posted in the "Christmas And Other Yuletide Festivals" board though?
It was intentional. The more replies this gets, the more people see it, think about booking their Christmas turkey or whatever earlier, and potentially save money and waste

Other (Have we missed something? Tell us below)Something vegetarian although not sure what yet. Will probably be between red onion and goats cheese tarts, roasted veg filo tart, stuffed peppers or some sort of veggie roulade.
It will be with roast potatoes, Yorkshire puds, brussels, roast parsnip, mashed parnips, carrots, peas, cauliflower and stuffingThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0
