TurkeyI'm hoping turkey with all the trimmings this year.
I'm going to stay with relatives for Christmas this year. Normally, Christmas is just me and my mum and she is a veggie so normally some sort of veggie meal for me, so it will be nice for me to have turkey this year for a change.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
Mortgage free since 20140 -
Other (Have we missed something? Tell us below)Food of sorts will do
I'm not going to start thinking Xmas dinner in early November. Not keen on turkey and other traditional Xmas fare, so it certainly won't be any of that.
Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
I suggested one year we had something other than turkey-you'd have thought 'd suggested murdering Santa by my son's reaction
I'm waiting for my Christmas rota but will probably be working Christmas morning but will do most of the prep Christmas eve. I'll be working from home and my office has a window to the kitchen and OH can cook so depending on my start time it'll be a fry first thing (need to source decent white pudding this year) and dinner will be Turkey crown, Ham, pigs, parsnips brussels, yorkshire puds, roasties as the essentials probably califlower cheese too and whatever else we fancy......Only limit on timing is that dinner must be finished before Dr Who startsI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
My turn to choose so its ........Rib of Beef.
Have selected the beast its coming from last week and it should be going for the chop in about 2-3 weeks so it has plenty of hanging time.0 -
TurkeyOrdered my meat in over the weekend and sorted out the menu.
My first Christmas as a homeowner and father so got my parents, siblings, in-laws, wife's siblings and their partners round for a total of 14 adults.
Turkey Crown
Joint of Topside Beef
Home made gravy
Home made yorkshire puddings
Honey roast carrots and parsnips
Garden peas
Brussels with chestnuts and Sage
Packet sage & Onion stuffing
Shop bought pigs in blankets
Not planned desserts yet but will be going for something I can cook the week before as i'll have enough to do on the day.
I also did all my xmas shopping at the weekend and everything is wrapped and all cards written apart from a couple of bits that have been ordered online and are awaiting delivery0 -
Other (Have we missed something? Tell us below)Most likely, beans on toast followed by a handful of mint humbugs and washed down with a bottle of vintage port.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
NutroastThe thing I like about making loads of food for Christmas dinner, is the leftovers. We often don't have to cook again for a few days!0

Other (Have we missed something? Tell us below)Centre cut fillet log . Feeds three greedy people and is served with roast potatoes and various veggies. I'll make dessert. I'm thinking of a raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake. I'll also make a chocolate cake and a genoa cake.0

TurkeyMe & DH are away in a cottage this year & we leave on the 28th. To get the most out of the leftovers (cold meat, bubble & squeak, pickles, cheese etc) , which we love, we have christmas dinner on Christmas eve.
We will have turkey, one other joint (to be decided) & all the usual veggies :-)SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65
SPC 9 (2016) #485 TOTAL £84

Other (Have we missed something? Tell us below)Ds will be with his father this year, so only me, oh and dd for a quiet Christmas day this year. Dd dislikes roast and I'm veggie so I think I'll do a hm veg lasagne with roasted / steamed veg and garlic bread. Breaking our usual habit of Christmas curry :-)0
