Chucking it down here - again.

Going to see a property tonight. Kitchen looks small but realistically if I'm going to be living alone will I need a big kitchen.

There's potential for a side extension to build a bigger kitchen and add more space because it has a big garden, maybe too big for an old crone like me.

It's one of those properties that is ok (ish)

Technically I could live in it well enough without doing much or I could invest in it and bring it kicking and screaming into the 21st century.

Or I could just give it a quick revamp and flip it......

Or I could clean it up, let it out and buy a RTW ticket........:rotfl:

    Decisions........
  • Sounds like that won't be the one for you LL.
    You'll find the one soon.
Brief showers here . Can't remember where you're based .

I took the day off today , so I wouldn't have to miss the footie ;)
Bizarrely, I'm tidying my garden in stages . It's just overgrown grass really .
What I've been doing, is charging up my cordless strimmer , and
chopping away at as much as I can.
Only been down there for about 10 mins each time .
2 or more sessions, and it will be tidy again.
It only takes a few days of heat and sunshine / showers and it grows rapidly .
Happy that the strimmer is working on wet grass ;)

It's been chucking it down here, but we did get some little, bright spell, for a few minutes, oop where it's grim (Notts, all right?)

Starting to rain here . Less humid, so I'm happy ;)

Grey skies here too, it will be raining son. Although - gasp!! - the sun came out for a couple of hours yesterday and I actually got to sit out and catch a few rays.

(It's not all grim oooop north. Smodlet - we are practically neighbours. Sunny Derby).

Didn't bother viewing the bungalow last night - yes I did do the decent thing and cancel - decided it was just too small, especially the kitchen and extending would have been problematic and probably very expensive.

Am off to see a property today - looks good on paper but don't know the area very well. No harm in looking.

A girl has to kiss a lot of frogs........:rotfl:

Ps - just edited to brag.......2lbs weight loss this week.

    Wahoo...
  • Keep hopping LL,and the right one will turn up ;)
  • So, one viewing this afternoon , then.. Nothing . One refusal yesterday. Quite rude and evasive , but eventually no.

It's been on the market 1 month and 4 days . May have to wait until next year. Maybe I won't be able to move , due to bids too low.

Pulling teeth out is less tedious , at the moment .

The thing is , the doing up of the flat is not as much as people make out .

    We'll see

Hey, AC and LL. Keep the faith, the right ones will come along at some point. At least you get to pick and choose, rather than having to take whatever you can get or be homeless... it's grim enough oop 'ere for a soft southerner, LL, but brighter for knowing you are so near :D. I know a really good builder who is based in Chesterfield, should you be interested.

AC, do you watch Homes under the Hammer/Love it or List it? (Other property programmes are available) You never know, you might be inspired and "tarting" a place up to sell can be done for not that much. I think it's mostly about tidying/cleaning and de-cluttering, really.

Let us know how you both get on... glad I'm not looking any more! Unless the neighbours-from-hell who've just moved in get worse; then, they are only renting, so other avenues possible, perhaps.
