Yes - multiple viewings can work in the vendors interest, although often it's done for the EAs convenience.......trying to kill two birds with one stone.
Personally I hate it when I rock up and there are other people around, but then if I'm honest I also dislike being shown round a property by an EA anyway.
You rarely get the negotiator, Invariably you just get a part timer who is just drafted in to open up the property and let people wander round. They will know nothing about the place and cannot answer my questions.
I would much rather be shown around by the vendor themselves where possible.
But that's just me.......
How did you get on ....... I suppose you will have to wait until Monday for feedback.
Raining off and on so another day of decluttering. Got off to a great start yesterday so hopefully will make further inroads today.
I am being ruthless.......:rotfl: I have reached a stage where I want to "travel light" through life.
Speaking of which, weight loss is 1lb this week. Wahoo.:D
Stubbed my toe - do t think it's broken buts its swollen and badly bruised so no extra walking this week. Will try the trainer on cycle mode.
Going to London next Saturday so need to try and give it a chance to heal.0 -
Thanks folks
LL, don't forget to put ice on the toe.( you've probably done it already) well done on losing the lbs;)
Regarding the second viewing : I got back fairly early from the cafe.
No sign of anybody . Either she came , and left early , not liking it.
Or , she never turned up .
It's raining , so cannot do garden. In fact, I can't do garden till weds afternoon at the earliest, as I am working tomorrow / tues solo , so two long days .
One more viewing tomorrow ( 1pm) .
Waiting for credit card to turn up . My washing machine needs fixing .
What I may do ; Thursday - book day off. Do garden am. Watch footie. Take it easy . That is , if it is not gonna rain ..0 -
Forgot to mention , I too want to have less things etc.;)
When the move finally happens , I'll probably offload a lot of stuff, and start again .
An example - home computer :
First you have the computer, then the desk , then the printer / scanner, then an audio interface if you want to record stuff, then studio monitors ..and it goes on .
That'll change , and be more compact .
Then th furniture / bed etc.
I won't go on , as it will make me more impatient
Not so humid today0 -
Well, the lady who viewed my property in quick time on Saturday ,
liked the idea about being able to put her own stamp on the property .
Has to look at one more property in Hampton before deciding to commit . Positive viewing .
One more viewing as mentioned, at 1pm today . Hopefully , more of the same .
Been listed for a month now.0 -
well done, I had an offer rejected on a house that came up in my town - I am really worried that nothing will ever come up0
-
Fingers crossed for you Anna .
It's weird really . When I look at potential places in parkstone/. Westbourne on the right move app, nothing seems to change much.
I check it out most days, for the last month.
One I did like , disappeared last week.
Having said that , I can't do anything yet .
This morning , humid as hell. Emails to my boss, and others hoping they can find out what air conditioning means , and can I have some.
My boss, who is also personnel came into the office.
I've calmed down , after telling her this place is making me unwell .
Oh well...0 -
I just noticed this thread this morning and have now scanned most of the posts from the OP, but skipped most of the replies. You definitely sound much more positive which is great.
You also inspired me to tell my own story here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5478326
Yes, you will feel lots of mixed emotions, some days it will seem quite frightening, and you might feel that you should just give up the idea and stay put - but I think you are well past that stage now. The increased frustration at work was the same for me. Once I knew it was going to happen, I just couldn't wait. There were two weeks from when a couple made a verbal offer until that offer was made properly and accepted by me - and those days felt very long.
To add to all the other opinions and advice, here is mine. Rent rather than buy initially, to give yourself time without being tied, and maybe don't look for work straight away - you can afford a few months to give yourself time to relax and enjoy your freedom. The feeling of being debt-free is a great one, especially after years of struggling. Your music gives you a way to make contacts, nd that should help to find new friends, and also get to know your new area.
I think your brother is not helpful. Maybe he worries that he won't cope without you if you move - but this is about you, making the most of your life and doing what is best for you. Sometimes we all need to put ourselves first, even if we appear selfish to others.
I strongly believe that you are doing the right thing, and that you now have the positive mental attitude to make it work. I will be following this thread now and wish you all the best.0 -
Thanks very much Betty
Can't believe I have interest , stretching over 2o pages;)
I will checkout your thread later.
TBH : it may seem risky , but I will probably buy straight away , rather than rent . This is because , I'm trying to get as near to 55k of savings , which should hopefully last me 5 years .
I intend to take time off immediately , but joining a gym immediately also. This would make me much fitter , and more employable when I look for work ( hopefully part time ) about 3 months down the line .
The place I work is full of arrogant people . However , it s a small company , which makes things worse . Add the cliques to this and you get the picture.
Even the directors notice I don't care about them. Some only losay hello when they feel like it , so I do the same ,)0 -
Well done for having the stones (why isn't there a stones icon?) to let the directors know you are not their b!!!!h, AC. Wish to god I'd had the nerve to do the same. If I could go back and tell a whole bunch of :mad:s exactly what I think of them, I could die happy. Yes, I know I am hurting only myself by acknowledging their existence... so sorry to vent.
Hang in there and stay positive! You will get there.0 -
What's the story, morning glory......
Any news.
We're all agog here, you know.......:rotfl:
Spent the evening before last trawling through Rightmove.......a few possibles. Have shortlisted them and might start doing some viewings within the next couple of weeks.
I have the decorators here at the beginning of July so it will be good excuse to get from under their feet so they can crack on.
Speaking of feet the bruising on my foot is in glorious technicolor now, very pretty. Just hope it doesn't put a damper on the London trip. Maybe I should borrow my dads walking stick.....:rotfl:
Have just blitzed a couple of rooms, another couple of bags for the charity shop, then a tip run on Friday. This decluttering malarkey is addictive........
My next house is going to be all clean lines and minimalist, no clutter just nice and comfortable, with beautiful objects, paintings and plants.....
ELegant simplicity is my new mantra - with maybe just a few high tech gadgets and gizmos to make life easy........;)0
