Busy day .
8.30am .. loads of hammering .
10.20 saw a number on mobile . Shouldn't have answered it .
My now ex colleague gave the number to the tea lady.
She is les miserable sat the best of times . I told her to tell him that she couldn't get hold of me . Colleagues wife in hsp . The company are not getting anyone to replace me . If I was there , I'd be changing shifts for him . Now I'm not there , he can struggle . He is annoyed with me the way I left . Too bad
Saw 2 flats. Like them both. Asked my friend if he could come next weekend for a second viewing on both. That's the plan.
Had eye test, despite my left eye being weak and bloodshot.
When I'm tired ,the left eye drops slightly .
So, the news is good . Having said that , I got a pair of varifocals for tv/ computer/ reading etc. Including eye test ,almost £370.cue specsaver jokes. Still, test was thorough and I'm delighted ,as eye tests can detect many things .
Washing machine fine . So ,all good I guess0 -

Let's see if I've got this straight:
Ex-colleague has given your private mobile number (the number that he presumably had to have so you two could coordinate working shifts, etc.) to another member of staff - without asking your permission in advance?
The primary reason, so that ex-colleague can let you know - via tea lady - and make you feel guilty he's having a bad time of it (no disrespect to poorly wife and all that, but you get the gist).
I'd be annoyed that the number had been given out (that's breach of various procedures / data protection, issues for a start). It's definitely a case of 'tough ti**ies' that work hasn't pulled their finger out and at least gotten assistance - although it sounds as if he's on his own - literally.
If it happens again, I'd be sorely tempted to contact HR - in writing - and tell them you're enjoying your much-deserved retirement and would really rather not be contacted (bothered) by former colleagues.
Although it *might* get your colleague in the dog-house0 -
Glad the washing machine is sorted, and the eyes as well. I hate it when they do that puff of air into the eye - I always blink at the wrong time.
I went shopping this morning for some fresh fruit and veg. and bumped into 2 friends who have been poorly with this nasty virus that seems to be doing the rounds - so no New Year kisses exchanged. It does seem to be a long-lasting one - both said they had been suffering since before Xmas. It always used to be said we need the snow and ice to kill the bugs and we have had such a mild winter here (so far) that it makes you wonder if there is any truth in that. Only a few frosty nights/mornings although the damp grey days (like today) make me miserable. The check-out lady was very cheery in supermarket though despite it being very busy. 2 books may have "fallen" into my trolley but still no cola, and a pack of turkey mince for the cat as he is still on "soft diet" after dental treatment so deserves a little treat as he can't have his Dreamies yet.
Bit of a nuisance re ex-colleague giving out your phone number but the tea-lady probably thought you were closer to ex-colleague than you were and thought you might want to know. (I always try to give people the benefit of doubt first time round). I would just block their numbers. Disagree with JustAboutThere - no data protection breach and ex HR won't want to know.
Hope you have a good weekend AC.0 -
Okay, tea lady has no one to talk to . She is not outgoing enough to talk to the staff. Only a few people. Unfortunately, I'm the last one she spoke to.
My ex colleague and her dont really like each other. Him being narcissistic and her with tunnel vision. However, he had no right to do what he did .
He was obviously trying to find out what I'm up to so he can slag me off to others. However, shoe is on other foot now. They are not replacing me.
His wife is dying . This time though, I am not the doormat.
I told her to tell him , that she couldn't get through to me on the phone this morning.
That's out of the way . I now have another viewing tomorrow.
Sounds good on the phone .probably too expensive , but no concrete offers , so I will have a look. It's about a five minute walk up the road.0 -

Tea lady knows, I cant stand him . She doesn't like him either, but is bored. Your cat has a better diet than me .
